Moderately away from gate 1, raced better than midfield on the inside, easy run to turn, kept on well in straight to take 2nd, not quite able to challenge.

J Orman stated that the intention was to settle midfield. He said when his mount jumped well he elected to go forward to avoid covering additional ground. Sent for sampling post-race.

Made contact at start, raced in 2nd, 2 wide, there to turn, kept on well early in straight, peaked 150M, stayed on evenly to take a place.

Leaving the 600 Metres was steadied to avoid LEADING DRAGON when racing keenly. Leaving the 500 Metres was steadied to avoid MALPENSA when being shifted to that runner’s outside to improve. Sent for sampling post-race.

Jumped awkwardly and lost ground, raced in midfield on the inside, saved ground on turn, kept on same pace in straight. (Sustained an abrasion to its left front leg.)

Jumped only fairly. Between the 350 Metres and the 200 Metres was held up for clear running. Again near the 100 Metres experienced difficulty obtaining clear running.

M F Poon stated that his mount jumped awkwardly and lost ground at the start. He said in accordance with his instructions he then rode the horse forward but was obliged to race wide and without cover when unable to cross runners to his inside and as a result was unable to finish the race off in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Slightly slow out and crowded, showed no early speed, raced at rear on the inside, saved ground on turn, made minor progress in straight. (See Racing Incidents.)

Jumped only fairly, shifted out and lost ground when it made contact with ONESHOT. Near the 1000 Metres became unbalanced when it shifted in and away from ONESHOT. Crowded near the 800 Metres. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

A Atzeni (MASTER LUCKY) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that near the 800 Metres he allowed his mount to shift in when insufficiently clear of CASA BUDDY, resulting in CASA BUDDY being crowded in onto ONESHOT which was checked to avoid CASA BUDDY and as a result blundered and then shifted in and crowded the running of CHIU CHOW GOLF. A Atzeni was suspended from riding in races for one Hong Kong raceday to be conducted on Wednesday, 20 May 2026 at Happy Valley. In assessing penalty, the Stewards determined the carelessness grade 2 and the consequences grade 2 and also considered his very good race riding record. L Ferraris (SUPER LOVE) was found guilty of a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that near the 300 Metres he improved to the inside of CHIU CHOW GOLF when there was not sufficient room to do so, resulting in ONESHOT being crowded for room and being checked to avoid SUPER LOVE. L Ferraris was suspended from riding in races for one Hong Kong raceday to be conducted on Saturday, 9 May 2026 at Sha Tin. In assessing penalty, the Stewards determined the carelessness grade 2 and the consequences grade 2 and also considered his very good race riding record. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
