Results
Outpaced early stages, eased 700m out when jockey was concerned with the horse's action, no significant findings after race.
Amongst leaders early before settling one back 2-wide, faded from a similar position 300M out and hampered 150M out.
Led early, headed 700m out, remained prominent, struggled to hold position halfway out, gave ground final 400m.
Shifted out at start, raced prominently on the stands' side, hard ridden approaching 300M but only showed limited response, weakened gradually inside final furlong.
Taken back to race 3 wide with cover behind midfield, angled out 500M, made no impression in straight.
Moderately away, raced in midfield on the inside, 2 wide approaching 700M, 4 lengths or so back turning in, one-paced in straight.

WROTE, former Coolmore’s runner, collected 3 wins and 4 thirds in 11 starts, winning distance from 1400M to 1600M including the success in 2011 Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf with Ryan Moore on board. On his 3YO return, he finished 3rd in UAE Derby but no surprise in St James's Palace Stakes. Then he was sold to US and joined Andrew Mitchell’s yard but well beaten in G2 Monmouth stakes and finished last in a listed contest afterwards. The son of HIGH CHAPARRAL commenced stud duties since 2014 at US and transferred to Highview Stud, New Zealand in 2017 with 6 black type contests winner including New Zealand Oaks champion PULCHRITUDINOUS. His service fee in 2025 is NZD$ 12,000. ONESHOT has been unsold as a 2YO for not reaching NZD$ 120,000 in 2024 NZB Ready To Run Sale where he finished 200M breeze up run in 10.73s. His full-brother SOUTH STAR and half-brother GOLD TACK both won at 1400M or farther while some dam family members are United States or Chile runners. As a son of WROTE, the bay gelding should be no issue at Happy Valley and also fine on dirt.
