For some distance after the 400 Metres was held up for clear running behind AEROVOLANIC. Near the 350 Metres was shifted to the outside of AEROVOLANIC to obtain clear running and as a result made contact with ALL OUT FOR SIX on a number of occasions. Sent for sampling post-race.

When questioned J Orman stated that after settling back in the field he commenced a forward move making the Home Turn with the intention of following the favourite in the race NYX GLUCK. He said near the 400 Metres when he observed NYX GLUCK to be held up and experiencing difficulty obtaining clear running he then elected to shift to the inside of FLOW WATER FLOW to obtain clear running. He said after improving to the inside of FLOW WATER FLOW near the 300 Metres MONEY GAMES then became badly held up near the 200 Metres behind RUN RUN SMART and could not be tested until near the 50 Metres. After considering his explanation the Stewards found the tactics adopted by Jockey Orman were reasonable in the circumstances.

When giving ground near the 200 Metres raced in restricted room between MONEY GAMES and FLOW WATER FLOW which shifted in. Apprentice P N Wong stated that she was obliged to make too much use of the horse in the early stages to go forward and as a result MEANINGFUL DRAGON was left without a finishing effort in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
