Shortly after the start shifted out abruptly and became unbalanced when being corrected by its rider. B Avdulla stated that from an inside barrier he had anticipated taking up a handy position to take advantage of the good barrier. Sent for sampling post-race.

Began fairly, raced 3 wide with cover behind midfield, 5 lengths back turning in, no clear run early in straight, cleared 300M, made some progress thereafter.

Bumped at the start. A Atzeni was reprimanded for using the whip on consecutive occasions in 2 consecutive strides near the 200 Metres. Sent for sampling post-race.

Clean jump, sent forward to take the lead, led by 1-1/2L turning in, kept on well early in straight, peaked and headed approaching 100M, ran on evenly to take 2nd.

Bumped at the start. Raced wide and without cover until near the 700 Metres. Approaching the 150 Metres was eased to avoid LUCKY SAM GOR (C L Chau) which shifted in when not quite clear. C L Chau was advised to exercise more care.

Shifted out at start and made contact, sent forward to race prominently on the outside, there to turn, peaked early in straight, weakened final 250M. (See Racing Incidents.)

Between the 400 Metres and the 350 Metres was held up for clear running behind ALL ROUND WINNER. Between the 150 Metres and the 100 Metres was held up for clear running. Again over the concluding stages could not be ridden out when positioned close to ALL ROUND WINNER.

Bumped shortly after the start. Z Purton reported that his mount made a respiratory noise during the running of the race. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Taken back from the widest draw, raced at rear on the inside, saved ground on turn, no clear run early in straight, cleared after passing 250M, finished off evenly.

Jumped only fairly and then was steadied when crowded by MULTIDUTCH which shifted out abruptly on jumping despite the efforts of its rider R Kingscote. For some distance near the 900 Metres was steadied away from the heels of RAINBOW SEVEN. K Teetan reported that after receiving interference at the start he was obliged to settle further back than anticipated. He added as a result SMART FAT CAT found it difficult to make up ground in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Near the 350 Metres M L Yeung dropped his whip. After the event M L Yeung could offer no excuse for his mount’s failure to finish the race off in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
