Made contact shortly after start, positioned 1-1/2L behind the leader on the stands' rail, same position in the middle stages, not enough room until 150M, made some progress thereafter to take a place.

Shortly after the start made contact with SPEEDY POWER due to both runners shifting ground. Near the 500 Metres was steadied when crowded by INVICTUS which shifted out and away from BUSTLING CITY (B Avdulla) when that runner shifted out before being corrected by its rider. B Avdulla was advised to exercise more care. After the 200 Metres was eased and shifted to the inside of INVICTUS to continue into clear running.

Jumped with them, raced prominently on the stands' side, hard ridden approaching 300M, kept on evenly to the line.

<22/6/2026 Additional Veterinary Report> The Veterinary Surgeon reported that COMET RADIANCE was lame in its left front leg on the morning after racing. Before being allowed to race again, COMET RADIANCE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Shortly after the start was then steadied when crowded between VICTORY CHAMPION which was taken in by BUSTLING CITY which shifted in despite the efforts of its rider and VIEW ALL THINGS. In this incident PRIME WINISTER made contact with the hindquarters of VIEW ALL THINGS and lost further ground. Raced keenly in the early stages. M F Poon stated that after jumping only fairly and being crowded shortly after the start his mount settled further back in the field than what he had been instructed.

Shifted out at start and made contact, positioned a length behind the leader, 2 away from the stands' rail, peaked on run 400M, weakened gradually inside final furlong.

H Bowman stated that his mount, which was having its first race start, is still immature and would derive benefit from today’s experience. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Shortly after the start was bumped on the hindquarters and became unbalanced. A Badel stated that his mount would be better suited by being stepped back up in distance for its next race start. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to be a "roarer” which had previously been reported.

Began awkwardly, raced at rear throughout, never a factor.

Prior to declaring weighed-in the Stewards considered an application from Jockey M Chadwick that his horse be declared a non-runner on the basis that it had been denied a fair start. After taking evidence from Starter Mr A Speechley, Jockey Chadwick and Trainer C H Yip, the Stewards found that as the start was being effected SMART HIGH reared and as a consequence lost significant ground. As the Stewards were satisfied that the Starter could not have reasonably anticipated the horse was going to rear it was declared a runner. Before being allowed to race again, SMART HIGH will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial.
