SMART HIGH

SEBRING SUN, son of SEBRING collected 3 wins, 1 second and 7 thirds in 27 starts, winning distance at 1100M and 1200M. He was trained by Gary Portelli at the beginning and got his sole black type contest success at age 3 in 2015 that notched 1200M listed The Rosebud under Brenton Avdulla, then finished 3rd in G1 Golden Rose Stakes that 2.8Ls behind EXOSPHERE with Jim Cassidy in the saddle. He transferred to Darren Weir’s yard at age 4 and was place-getters in 2 listed contests and made his way to Les Kelly’s stable afterwards but no success. The colt joined the stallion roaster of Glenthorne Park and is still searching for his first black type contest winner. His fee in 2026 is AUD$ 6,600. SMART HIGH is the homebred of Glenthorne Park that trained by Allan Kehoe in Australia and took part in 2 barrier trials. On his first trial over 780M (16th Apr 2025), he led early and kept on one-paced for 3rd on heavy ground, then led all the way to win with 5.95Ls in an 800M section (24th Sept 2025) on good going. His sire SEBRING SUN has only a few progeny in Hong Kong, yet two have already secured victories on the dirt and turf respectively. His dam MOPAREE won 3 races from 1000M to 1170M during her racing career. While recent members have won few black-type races, the majority excel in sprint races. The bay gelding should be a precocious sprinter that most suited 1400M or under in distance.
