Slightly slow out, raced 3 wide slightly behind midfield, moved closer after passing 1200M, no cover from 900M, 1 to 2 lengths back on turn, hard ridden approaching 300M but only showed limited response, weakened gradually final 50M.

Near the 550 Metres was steadied when crowded between ISLAND BUDDY which shifted out slightly and ELEGANT LIFE (E C W Wong) which shifted in before being corrected by its rider. Jockey Wong was reprimanded. Sent for sampling post-race.

Began well from gate 1, raced in midfield on the inside, saved ground on turn, kept on well in straight to take a place without threatening.

Leaving the 900 Metres was hampered when taken wider by HAPPY SHOOTER. Near the 550 Metres shifted in and made contact with GOLD PATCH, resulting in its rider E C W Wong correcting his mount. As a result ELEGANT LIFE shifted out abruptly and made the Home Turn wide. Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.

Bumped start, raced 2 wide behind midfield, steadied near 800M, 6 to 7 lengths back turning in, failed to close off in straight.

Jumped awkwardly and lost ground. Near the 1100 Metres improved into a run when there was not sufficient room and then raced tight to the inside of GREAT SPIRIT before shifting in and away from that runner. Leaving the 800 Metres was steadied when crowded between HAPPY SHOOTER which shifted in when racing keenly and EVERSTAR which shifted out when being steadied to avoid LUCKY PLUS.

Jumped well from the widest draw, showed no early speed, taken back to race at tail, 7 lengths or so back turning in, kept on same pace in straight. (See Racing Incidents.)

In the early stages raced keenly. Leaving the 900 Metres was shifted to the outside of GOLD PATCH and as a result made contact with ELEGANT LIFE which was taken wider. Lay out making the Home Turn. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Jumped with them, took the early lead, headed 1250M, positioned 1-1/2L behind the leader in the middle stages, kept on well early in straight, peaked 200M, weakened thereafter. (See Racing Incidents.)

Jumped only fairly and then was crowded by GREAT SPIRIT which shifted in. Near the 1100 Metres was steadied when crowded by MASTER LUCKY (A Atzeni) which, after improving to the inside of GREAT SPIRIT when there was not sufficient room to do so, was then taken in by GREAT SPIRIT. A Atzeni was reprimanded. <23/3/2026 Additional Veterinary Report> The Veterinary Surgeon reported that SHANDONG SPIRIT was lame in its left hind leg on the morning after racing. Before being allowed to race again, SHANDONG SPIRIT will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Jumped well, raced prominently, took the lead near 1250M, led by a length in the middle stages, kept on well in straight, shifted out abruptly 100M, always doing enough.
