Results
Travelled 4-wide without cover in back straight, obtained cover 3-wide rounding home bend, carried very wide entering home straight, ran home one-paced.
From an awkward draw caught out on a limb, boxed on solidly considering the tough run.
Crowded leaving stalls and also shuffled back around halfway, towards rear, stayed on from 400m out, moved into third 150m out, no further impression on front two closing stages.
Raced in touch with leaders, asked for effort 400m out, stayed on but lacked pace to challenge.
Began only fairly, raced behind midfield on the inside, saved ground on turn, made some progress early in straight, kept on evenly inside final furlong. (See Racing Incidents.)
Jumped well, raced prominently, took the lead near 1250M, led by a length in the middle stages, kept on well in straight, shifted out abruptly 100M, always doing enough.

TAGALOA was trained by Trent Busuttin & Natalie Young with 3 wins, 1 second and 4 thirds in 13 starts, winning distance from 1000M to 1400M. He finished 3rd on his debut in 1000M G3 Maribyrnong Plate and scored in the following start over 1000M at Moonee Valley. After a short break, he ran on for 4th in Blue Diamond Preview - C&G, then landed G1 Blue Diamond Stakes with Michael Walker on board, finished 2nd in Todman Stakes and 4th in Golden Slipper. He made 7 attempts during his 3YO season where his best placing was 1st in G3 CS Hayes Stakes under Luke Currie. After finished 9th in All Aged Stakes, the son of LORD KANALOA retired from racing and joined Yulong Stud since 2021 with 2 black type contests winner. His fee in 2025 is AUD$ 22,000.POLAR PATCH was purchased by Mr. Yeung Kin Man, owner of GALAXY PATCH at NZD$ 350,000 in 2024 NZB Ready To Run Sale where he finished 200M breeze up run in 10.42s. He was trained by Catherine Cameron in New Zealand. He took part in 5 barrier trials with 1 win, 2 seconds and 2 thirds where he won an 1100M trial (5th Aug 2025) where he settled near midfield early and dashed well late on heavy ground. Same sire runners are precocious runners and dam family members found several group races’ winners. The bay gelding should be most suited from 1200M to 1600M while soft going is fine.
