Made contact at start, raced 2 wide in midfield, wider after passing 700M, 2-1/2L back turning in, no clear run early in straight, cleared 250M, ran on evenly to the line.

Bumped near the 100 Metres. Sent for sampling post-race.

Jumped well, sent forward to take the lead, headed near 1050M, sat right behind the leader on turn, peaked early in straight, weakened final 100M.

Shifted in shortly after the start and was bumped. Near the 100 Metres lay out and made contact with THE AUSPICIOUS. Sent for sampling post-race.

Began well from gate 1, raced better than midfield on the inside, saved ground on turn, showed some response early in straight, no clear run final 150M.

Near the 1100 Metres was steadied when HAPPY UNIVERSE (R Kingscote) shifted in when not quite clear. R Kingscote was advised to exercise more care. Near the 550 Metres was steadied when crowded between FLYING KNIGHT and TURF PHOENIX which shifted out and away from GALLANT EPOCH when it came under pressure.

Began only fairly and made contact, raced behind midfield on the inside, 2 wide from 550M, 4 lengths back turning in, failed to close off in straight.

Jumped awkwardly. Shortly after the start was steadied when crowded between INNO SUPER and AUDACIOUS PURSUIT, both of which shifted ground. Near the 1100 Metres shifted out when being steadied to avoid THE LION KING. Near the 500 Metres got its head up when being steadied away from BEAUTY MISSILE. In the Home Straight lay out, raced greenly and proved difficult to ride. Near the 150 Metres CHINA WIN became held up behind INNO SUPER and shifted out when being steadied to avoid INNO SUPER.

Bumped shortly after start, sent forward to race prominently, 2 wide, allowed rival to cross near 900M, 1/2L back turning in, kept on well early in straight, peaked 150M, weakened final 50M.

Incident Report
Raced wide and without cover from the 800 Metres. Bumped near the 750 Metres. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race which included an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse’s trachea. Before being allowed to race again, HAPPY UNIVERSE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Began awkwardly and crowded, taken back to race at rear on the outside, 5 lengths back turning in, unable to obtain clear run until approaching 75M, finished off well to make frame, no threat to the first few. (See Racing Incidents.)

On jumping was bumped by TURF PHOENIX which shifted out. Z Purton reported that he was asked to ride the horse slightly more forward than its previous race starts. He said when caught wide in the early stages he elected to ride his mount forward to avoid covering additional ground. He added once INNO SUPER obtained a position in the lead it lacked concentration and did not fully stretch out when racing in this position. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. Sent for sampling post-race.

Slow to begin. Despite being ridden along in the early stages failed to show sufficient pace to hold a more forward position.

Made contact shortly after start, raced 3 wide, a length or so back, sent forward after passing 1200M, took the lead 1050M, led by 1/2L turning in, peaked and headed 150M, weakened final 100M.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Bumped on jumping, raced towards rear on the outside, 4 lengths or so back turning in, finished off strongly to take 2nd on line, just beaten by a neck.

Jumped awkwardly and lost ground.

Out with rest, positioned 2 wide better than midfield, angled out approaching 650M, 3 wide turning in, showed good response in straight, hit the front 150M, kept on well to hold off the challengers late.

Began awkwardly, taken back to race towards rear on the inside, angled out after passing 700M, 3 to 4 lengths back turning in, no clear run early in straight, cleared approaching 200M, made some progress thereafter.

In the middle stages raced keenly and near the 1100 Metres got its head up when being steadied away from GLORIASTAR.

Bumped on jumping, raced slightly better than midfield on the outside, no cover from 1000M, moved closer on turn, weakened early in straight when hard run took effect. (See Racing Incidents.)

Held up between the 500 Metres and the 350 Metres.

Began awkwardly and made contact with the right side of its starting gate, raced 2 wide slightly behind midfield, very wide turning in, finished off well to take a place. (See Racing Incidents.)

Shifted out at the start and was bumped. After being crossed by INNO SUPER leaving the 800 Metres attempted to obtain a position to that runner’s outside but was prevented from doing so when HAPPY UNIVERSE improved quickly to its outside. As a result TURF PHOENIX and HAPPY UNIVERSE made contact near the 750 Metres.

Incident Report
M L Yeung advised that he was instructed to ride the horse in a forward position. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race which included an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of mucus in the horse’s trachea. The performance of GOR GOR, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, GOR GOR will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
