Crowded shortly after start, raced 2 wide in midfield early, found rail near 500M, showed very good response in straight, took the lead 150M, kept on well to the line and scored.

Shortly after the start was eased when crowded between ZOUPER FELLOW and LEAN MASTER which shifted out slightly. Sent for sampling post-race.

Began well, sent forward to take the lead, led by a length turning in, kept on well in straight but unable to hold off the winner final 150M.

C L Chau was reprimanded for using his whip in a manner where the hand holding the whip was above shoulder height on one occasion near the 100 Metres. Sent for sampling post-race.

Away well, raced better than midfield on the inside, moved closer on turn, angled out approaching 400M, kept on well in straight to take a place without threatening.

Shifted in at start and bumped, raced 3 wide in midfield early, 2 wide from 500M, unable to obtain clear run until final 100M, kept on evenly to the line.

Shifted in at the start and was bumped. Prior to declaring weighed-in the Stewards viewed the patrol films to ascertain if there were grounds for a protest/objection on behalf of the 4th placegetter SUPER SIXTY after being steadied at the 150 Metres. When the Stewards were satisfied SUPER SIXTY had not established clear running between BEAUTY THUNDER and ZETA HEDGE they declined a protest/objection. When questioned H Bowman stated that after following ZETA HEDGE into the Home Straight he observed that runner lay out on straightening and therefore he elected to endeavour to improve between ZETA HEDGE and BEAUTY THUNDER. He said when ZETA HEDGE then shifted in at the 250 Metres SUPER SIXTY was held up for clear running between the 250 Metres and the 150 Metres and when BEAUTY THUNDER shifted out slightly he was obliged to steady his mount at the 150 Metres. C L Chau, rider of ZETA HEDGE, was advised to exercise more care. Sent for sampling post-race.

Taken back from gate 12, raced at rear on the inside, saved ground on turn, made some progress in straight.

M L Yeung reported that he was instructed to take up a forward position. He said when unable to cross runners to his inside GOLDEN FRIENDSHIP was obliged to race wide and without cover before giving ground in the Home Straight. Trainer K H Ting confirmed the instructions issued. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Began only fairly from gate 1, raced behind midfield on the inside, unbalanced near 600M, saved ground on turn, peaked early in straight, weakened gradually inside final furlong.
