After the event K C Leung reported that he was instructed to hold a midfield position. He said from barrier 1 his mount commenced well and held an on-pace position without having any pressured applied to do so. Sent for sampling post-race.

Jumped awkwardly, raced 3 wide with cover behind midfield, 4 to 5 lengths back turning in, made no impression in straight.

When questioned H Bentley stated that his instructions were to go forward and lead if possible. He said whilst his mount commenced well, ARIEL, which was positioned to his inside, also jumped well and showed intent on holding a forward position. He said making the first turn he was able to improve past ARIEL where he held an advantage on the horse and he considered continuing forward to cross that runner. He said when he received a call from Apprentice E C W Wong, the rider of ARIEL, near the 1300 Metres he formed the opinion that runner would maintain its position to his inside and for this reason he did not continue forward to cross that runner as he felt this would result in the pace of the event increasing which would have been to the detriment of his mount. He added that in hindsight, given the early stages of the event were run outside of standard time, he may have been better suited by continuing forward to cross ARIEL.

Away with them, raced 2 wide slightly better than midfield, 3 wide turning in, showed limited response early in straight, weakened final 100M.

Jumped awkwardly. From a wide barrier was then shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.

Out with rest, raced 2 wide towards rear of midfield, 6 lengths back turning in, made minor progress early in straight, peaked 150M, ran on evenly to the line.

Average to begin, raced in midfield on the inside, 2 wide turning in, no clear run early in straight, cleared approaching 200M, finished off very strongly to take 2nd, just beaten by a head.

Away well, sent forward to take the early lead, headed near 950M, 2nd in the middle stages, showed some response early in straight, peaked 150M, ran on evenly to the line.

Throughout the early and middle stages raced keenly. After the event M Chadwick reported that his mount did not appreciate the "Wet Slow” conditions on the All Weather surface. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. Sent for sampling post-race.

Jumped well, raced prominently early, positioned 2 wide better than midfield after passing 900M, 2 lengths back turning in, hit the front 250M, kept on very well in straight to hold off the challenger late.

Near the 500 Metres shifted out and made contact with NOBLE PURSUIT when improving to the outside of TURIN MASCOT.

Bumped shortly after start, trapped wide in midfield, no cover on turn, weakened early in straight when hard run took effect.

After the event B Avdulla reported that with his mount stepping up in distance he was instructed to hold a more forward position. He added that his mount did not appreciate the "Wet Slow” conditions on the All Weather surface. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Began well from gate 1, raced better than midfield on the inside, saved ground on turn, finished off evenly. (See Racing Incidents.)

Had its left front plate refitted in the Parade Ring. Was examined by the Veterinary Officer and passed suitable to race. After the event Z Purton reported that his mount did not appear to appreciate the "Wet Slow” track conditions and also may have come to the end of its preparation. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to have an epiglottic entrapment. The performance of CHILL KAKA was considered disappointing as compared to its previous race starts. Before being allowed to race again, CHILL KAKA will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
