Making the Home Turn was crowded for room by SKY JOY which, after being taken in slightly by NOBLE GO (A Atzeni), then shifted in and away from that runner slightly. A Atzeni was reprimanded. For some distance near the 450 Metres raced tight to the inside of SKY JOY which continued to lay in despite the efforts of its rider. Over the final 200 Metres had difficulty obtaining clear running and as a result could not be ridden out over the concluding stages.

Shifted in abruptly at start, raced prominently, 2 wide, there to turn, showed some response early in straight, peaked 150M, ran on evenly to the line.

Jumped well from a wide draw, raced prominently, took the lead near 900M, found rail approaching 750M, led by 1/2L turning in, peaked and headed 300M, weakened final furlong.

Near the 800 Metres was briefly crowded by QUICK CONTRIBUTION which lay in. From the 400 Metres until the 50 Metres was badly held up for clear running.

Began smartly from gate 1, raced better than midfield on the inside, 2 wide from 750M, showed very good response in straight, took the lead 300M, kept on well to the line and scored.

Approaching the 900 Metres was steadied when momentarily crowded by SPICY STANDARD which shifted in before being corrected by its rider B Avdulla. After the event, C Y Ho stated that despite riding his mount along in the early stages SUNNY DARLING did not show sufficient pace to hold a more forward position. He said in a recent barrier trial on 10 January 2025 SUNNY DARLING had performed in a similar manner and, in his opinion, shows better pace when racing on the All Weather surface.

Jumped only fairly. Near the 750 Metres and again after the 600 Metres became unbalanced when racing tight to the inside of FLASH CURRENT. Near the 350 Metres was shifted to the outside of FLASH CURRENT to obtain clear running. Near the 200 Metres was steadied when unable to continue to proceed forward between SUNNY DARLING and FLASH CURRENT which shifted out.

Moderately away, raced in midfield on the inside, saved ground on turn, finished off evenly.

When commencing to give ground near the 300 Metres was steadied when crowded by FLASH CURRENT (K C Leung) which, after being held up behind SPICY STANDARD, then shifted in to obtain clear running to the inside of SPICY STANDARD as that runner also shifted in. K C Leung was reprimanded.
