Bumped shortly after the start. From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Raced keenly in the middle stages and near the 700 Metres was steadied to avoid VIEW ALL THINGS.

Near the 900 Metres was steadied to avoid ORIGIN OF FORM. Z Purton stated that his mount was disadvantaged by the early and middle stages being run outside of standard time and as a result found it difficult to make up ground in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to be a "roarer” which had previously been reported.

Sat at the rear on the rail, picked off some weakened rivals.

J McDonald stated that when his mount jumped well he elected to go forward. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Near the 900 Metres was steadied when crowded by HAROLD WIN (C L Chau) which shifted in when not sufficiently clear. C L Chau was severely reprimanded. In assessing penalty the Stewards took into account that HAROLD WIN had been racing tight to the inside of FRANCIS MEYNELL prior to the incident occurring. Lay in when placed under pressure in the early stages of the Home Straight.

L Ferraris stated that his mount lay in when placed under pressure in the Home Straight but could offer no excuse for the horse’s disappointing performance. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Sat at the rear 3 wide, travelled keen, never involved.
