Average to begin, positioned a length or so back on the middle track, hard ridden from 250M, showed very good response, took the lead 50M, kept on well to the line and scored.

Between the 400 Metres and the 250 Metres was held up for clear running. When questioned regarding the improved performance Trainer C H Yip stated that the horse was disadvantaged at its last start over 2000 Metres when the early and middle stages were being run outside of standard time. He said this resulted in SMART AVENUE not being able to make up ground in the Home Straight. He added today SMART AVENUE was advantaged by the race being run at a more genuine pace and also may have appreciated the addition of visors to the horse’s gear. Sent for sampling post-race.

Jumped awkwardly, positioned 1-1/2L behind the leader on the middle track, hard ridden from 300M but only showed limited response, weakened gradually inside final furlong.

Approaching the 400 Metres was shifted to the outside of WITHALLMYFAITH to improve and made contact with LEGEND WINNER. Sent for sampling post-race.

Began awkwardly and lost ground, positioned 1 to 2 lengths behind the leader, hard ridden after passing 300M but only showed limited response, kept on same pace to the line.

Jumped with them, sent forward to take the lead, led by 1/4L at 400M, hard ridden from 350M, kept on well but unable to hold off the winner final 50M.

Jumped awkwardly, shifted in and made heavy contact with BLAZING WUKONG. Approaching the 200 Metres was steadied and shifted to the outside of MISTER DAPPER when MISTER DAPPER was giving ground. When being shifted to the outside of MISTER DAPPER near the 200 Metres made contact with GOLDEN CHAMP.

Shifted out at start, raced prominently on the stands' rail, hard ridden approaching 300M, finished off evenly.

Apprentice H Y Yuen stated that she had to make too much use of her mount in the early stages to go forward and race outside the leader M M CONCORD which resulted in MISTER DAPPER being left without a finishing effort in the Home Straight. She added that her saddle slipped back on entering the Home Straight, placing her at some disadvantage. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Began only fairly from gate 1, raced prominently on the middle track, kept on well until approaching 100M, weakened gradually final 50M.

Near the 200 Metres became unbalanced when bumped by RISING PHOENIX.

Shifted out at start, raced prominently on the stands' side, hard ridden approaching 300M but only showed limited response, weakened gradually inside final furlong.

Near the 350 Metres was steadied when momentarily crowded by MISTER DAPPER (Apprentice H Y Yuen) which shifted in when she was endeavouring to change her whip through to her right hand. Apprentice Yuen was advised to exercise more care. M Chadwick reported that his mount was disadvantaged by being pressured in the lead by MISTER DAPPER and as a result could not finish the race off in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Began well from gate 10, positioned 1 to 2 lengths behind the leader on the stands' rail early, dropped towards rear gradually after passing 600M, failed to make any progress final 300M.
