Out with rest, positioned 4-1/2L behind the leader on the inside, commenced move near 500M, showed very good response in straight, took the lead approaching 100M, kept on well to the line and scored.

Bumped when crowded near the 1500 Metres. R Kingscote (LOCH TAY) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that near the 1000 Metres he allowed his mount to shift in, resulting in DRAGON AIR FORCE being taken in onto GLITTERING LEGEND which was taken in across the running of ENDEARED which was steadied when crowded to the inside of GLITTERING LEGEND. R Kingscote was suspended from riding in races for one Hong Kong raceday to be conducted on Wednesday, 27 May 2026 at Happy Valley. In assessing penalty, the Stewards determined the carelessness grade 2 and the consequences grade 1 and also considered his good race riding record.

Taken back from gate 12, raced towards rear on the inside, a bit closer on turn, made no impression in straight.

R Kingscote pleaded guilty to a careless riding charge for causing interference near the 1000 Metres (see ENDEARED).

Jumped well, raced 2 wide better than midfield, hard ridden from 450M, kept on well in straight to take a place, not quite able to challenge.

Near the 300 Metres became awkwardly placed on the heels of TURIN MASCOT when endeavouring to improve to the inside of that runner.

Average to begin, sent forward to race in 2nd, 2 wide, challenged the leader turning in, took the lead 400M, peaked and headed approaching 100M, stayed on evenly to take 2nd.

Near the 1500 Metres DRAGON AIR FORCE (Apprentice H Y Yuen) shifted in when not clear of GLITTERING LEGEND, resulting in GLITTERING LEGEND making contact with ENDEARED which was taken in and crowding TURIN MASCOT. Apprentice Yuen was severely reprimanded.

Began well from gate 1, raced better than midfield on the inside, saved ground on turn, made some progress early in straight, peaked 150M, weakened gradually close home.

Jumped only fairly and then from a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Approaching the 400 Metres shifted out and made contact with TALENTS AMBITION.

Average to begin, raced 2 wide behind midfield, bumped near 700M, angled out 450M, failed to close off in straight. (See Racing Incidents.)

Raced keenly in the early stages and near the 1000 Metres was steadied away from LOCH TAY. Near the 200 Metres was accidentally struck across its head by the whip of C L Chau, rider of GLITTERING LEGEND.

Made contact shortly after start, raced behind midfield on the inside, moved a bit closer along the rail on turn, finished off well to make frame.

Approaching the 400 Metres and again shortly afterwards was bumped by NOISY BOY which shifted out.

K C Leung could offer no explanation for his mount’s disappointing performance. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Taken back from the widest draw, raced at rear on the inside, angled out after passing 500M, made some progress early in straight, peaked 200M, one-paced thereafter.

L Hewitson stated that the intention was to be more forward but after his mount began only fairly he was obliged to settle further back in the field than intended.

Jumped only fairly, raced in midfield, 2 wide, angled out after passing 550M, 4 lengths back turning in, peaked early in straight, kept on evenly to the line.

Near the 500 Metres, when commencing to give ground, was crowded between SWORD POINT and SKY VINO which shifted out slightly. Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event. The performance of WINNING DRAGON, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, WINNING DRAGON will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Jumped with them, raced towards rear on the outside, 7 to 8 lengths back turning in, failed to close off in straight.

Fractious in the Parade Ring, reared and fell over. Was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said it was not suitable to race. Acting on this advice FORTUNATE SON was withdrawn by order of the Stewards. Before being allowed to race again, FORTUNATE SON will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
