Taken back from the widest draw, raced at rear throughout, never a factor.

Incident Report
Near the 50 Metres made contact with CIRCUIT FIERY due to both runners shifting ground. Sent for sampling post-race.

Crowded start, unable to slot in, trapped wide in midfield on the outside, slightly taken back approaching 700M, found cover near 650M, 6-1/2L back turning in, made no progress in straight. (See Racing Incidents.)

Prior to declaring weighed-in Apprentice H Y Yuen viewed the Stewards’ patrol films to ascertain if there were grounds for a protest/objection against FLYING KNIGHT being declared the winner due to both runners making contact near the 50 Metres. When Apprentice Yuen declined to lodge a protest/objection and the Stewards were satisfied there were not sufficient grounds as the contact was due to both runners shifting ground and due to the manner both runners finishing the race off, they declared weighed-in on the numbers semaphored by the Judge. Sent for sampling post-race. Apprentice H Y Yuen was reprimanded for using the whip on consecutive occasions in 2 consecutive strides near the 150 Metres.

Inconvenienced at start, raced 2 wide behind midfield, 4 to 5 lengths back turning in, one-paced in the run home. (See Racing Incidents.)

Bumped shortly after the start. B Avdulla stated that he was given no specific instructions but was provided with the option of going forward if his mount commenced well. He said when GALLANT DESIGN commenced reasonably well he allowed it to stride forward and hold a more forward position than its previous race starts.

Jumped well, sent forward to take the lead, enjoyed the easy lead to turn, kept on very well in straight and scored.

Shifted out on jumping and was bumped. Held up for clear running on the Home Turn. Near the 350 Metres raced tight to the inside of HEALTHY PONY when improving to the inside of HEALTHY PONY.

Moderately away from gate 1, raced better than midfield on the inside, easy run to turn, kept on well in straight to take 2nd, not quite able to challenge.

On jumping shifted in and made contact with ALABAMA SONG. As a result HAPPY BRETHREN then shifted out and made contact with MULTISUPERSTAR. C Y Ho stated that his mount was disadvantaged by racing wide and without cover for the majority of the event and also did not appreciate the "Yielding” track conditions. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Shifted out at start and made contact, raced 2 wide better than midfield, difficult to settle in the early and middle stages, 2-1/4L back turning in, peaked early in straight, weakened final 150M. (See Racing Incidents.)

On jumping was crowded between GALLANT DESIGN and COME FAST FAY FAY which shifted out. Near the 1300 Metres was steadied to avoid GALLANT DESIGN (B Avdulla) which shifted in when not quite clear. B Avdulla was advised to exercise more care. Z Purton could offer no explanation for the horse’s disappointing performance. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Made contact at start, raced in 2nd, 2 wide, there to turn, kept on well early in straight, peaked 150M, stayed on evenly to take a place.

Had its left front plate refitted in the saddling stalls, was examined by the Veterinary Officer and passed suitable to race. Bumped on jumping. A Badel stated that his mount did not appreciate the "Yielding” track conditions and did not run out a strong 1400 Metres on the rain affected going. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
