GALLANT DESIGN, which was fractious in the starting gates when the start was effected, jumped awkwardly and lost ground. Approaching the 900 Metres improved to the inside of REZEKI when that runner shifted out whilst racing keenly. A short distance later GALLANT DESIGN was then steadied when crowded by REZEKI (Apprentice P N Wong) which shifted back in. Apprentice Wong was advised to exercise more care. Between the 300 Metres and the 200 Metres had difficulty obtaining clear running when being shifted to the outside of ABSOLUTE HONOUR.

Bumped on jumping, trapped very wide early, a length or so back, 2 wide from 900M, same margin back on turn, peaked early in straight, weakened final furlong. (See Racing Incidents.)

Slightly slow out, raced 3 wide slightly behind midfield, moved closer after passing 1200M, no cover from 900M, 1 to 2 lengths back on turn, hard ridden approaching 300M but only showed limited response, weakened gradually final 50M.

Bumped shortly after the start. H Bowman stated that his mount travelled satisfactorily throughout the event and responded only fairly in the Home Straight which he attributed to the horse being up in weight for today’s race. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Began only fairly, raced at rear on the outside, 5 lengths back turning in, made very good progress in straight to take 2nd, nearest on line.

From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. When commencing to finish the race off well over the concluding stages was steadied when crowded by INCREDIBLE MOMENT which was taken out by JOLLY BRILLIANT (D B McMonagle) which shifted out. D B McMonagle was advised to exercise more care.

Shifted out at start and bumped, raced behind midfield on the inside, saved ground on turn, angled out early in straight, finished off evenly.

Bumped shortly after the start. Raced keenly in the early stages and near the 900 Metres shifted out when steadied to avoid GORGEOUS VICTORY. Near the 200 Metres Apprentice P N Wong dropped her whip. Apprentice Wong stated that from a wide barrier she was instructed to ride the horse conservatively in the early stages to offset the wide draw. She added that REZEKI finished the race off only fairly from back in the field. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. <23/3/2026 Additional Veterinary Report> REZEKI, which performed disappointingly, was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said at that time there were no significant findings. REZEKI was again examined by the Veterinary Officer at the stables of Trainer D J Hall this morning. He said at this time he noted the horse to be lame in its left hind leg. Before being allowed to race again, REZEKI will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Jumped well, raced prominently, took the lead near 1250M, led by a length in the middle stages, kept on well in straight, shifted out abruptly 100M, always doing enough.

K Teetan stated that he was given the option of holding an on-pace position. He said when his mount commenced well he was able to hold a more forward position than at its first race start.

Jumped with them, took the early lead, headed 1250M, positioned 1-1/2L behind the leader in the middle stages, kept on well early in straight, peaked 200M, weakened thereafter. (See Racing Incidents.)

C L Chau stated that from his wide barrier he was obliged to race wide and without cover for the majority of the event and as a result his mount could not finish the race off in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
