Settled in mid division, travelled smoothly into home straight, ran on well to lead close home.
Taken back from gate 14, raced 3 wide with cover at rear, wider turning in, made good progress in straight to make frame, no threat to the first few.
Taken back from a wide draw, raced at rear on the outside, still well back on turn, made very good progress in straight to be nearest on line.
Jumped well, raced 2 wide better than midfield early, steadied near 1050M, 2 wide in midfield on turn, peaked early in straight, weakened thereafter. (See Racing Incidents.)

OCEAN PARK was owned by HK owners, with a record of 8 wins, 3 seconds, 1 third and 1 fourth in 15 starts including G1 Cox Plate, Underwood Stakes, Caulfield Stakes and other two G1s. He took part in Dubai Turf on his last start but was well beaten on that race. He retired because of tendon injury and performed his stud duties at New Zealand in 2013. 23 runners won the black types contest including KOLDING, 2019 Epsom Handicap, Golden Eagle and 2021 All Aged Stakes winner; four-time G1 winner TOFANE and 2023 Queensland Derby hero KOVALICA. His service fee in 2025 is NZD$15,000. JOLLY BRILLIANT was purchased by trainer Ricky Yiu at NZD$ 140,000 in 2024 NZB Karaka Book 1. There are less OCEAN PARK’s joining HK ranking recently as most of them are stayer that could handle up to 3200M in New Zealand. His dam SHOPAHOLIC is half-sister of former HK runner PACKING PINS and she is 2-time group races winner while two of her off-spring were black type contest participant including BARGAIN ran on for 3rd in G1 Australian Oaks and other runner won at 3200M. The bay gelding should be most suited over mile or upper in distance and no problem at Happy Valley.
