L Hewitson stated that after obtaining a position outside the lead, when he placed the horse under pressure in the Home Straight it gave ground noticeably. He added when he was concerned there was something amiss he desisted from riding his mount out over the final 200 Metres. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of WORLD HERO was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, WORLD HERO will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
