Stewards' Comments
Bumped on jumping, raced towards rear on the outside, 4 lengths or so back turning in, finished off strongly to take 2nd on line, just beaten by a neck.
Incident Report
Sent for sampling post-race.
Began awkwardly and crowded, taken back to race at rear on the outside, 5 lengths back turning in, unable to obtain clear run until approaching 75M, finished off well to make frame, no threat to the first few. (See Racing Incidents.)
Incident Report
From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Between the 400 Metres and the 300 Metres had difficulty obtaining clear running. Over the concluding stages lay in, resulting in its rider H Doyle having to stop riding and straighten her mount. Sent for sampling post-race.

Bumped on jumping, raced slightly better than midfield on the outside, no cover from 1000M, moved closer on turn, weakened early in straight when hard run took effect. (See Racing Incidents.)
Incident Report
Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event. K C Leung reported that the instructions were to hold a midfield position. He said when his mount commenced reasonably well and was caught wide in the early stages he elected to continue forward to avoid covering additional ground.
Taken back from gate 9, raced at rear on the inside, saved ground on turn, made minor progress in straight. (See Racing Incidents.)
Incident Report
Bumped near the 1000 Metres. When questioned regarding his riding in the early stages and if there was an opportunity to maintain its position to the inside of SZERYNG, L Hewitson stated that he was instructed to endeavour to find cover on the horse and not to make too much use of his mount in the early stages to ensure that AWESOME TREASURE settled. He said in the early stages when racing to the outside of MOTOMAN he was reluctant to continue forward and cross that runner as this would require him to make use of his mount contrary to the instructions issued. He added leaving the 1000 Metres he was content to allow SZERYNG to cross his mount as he felt this would provide the horse a good opportunity to settle whilst at the same time being able to follow the favourite into the race. Trainer D A Hayes confirmed the instructions issued. The Stewards found the tactics adopted by Jockey Hewitson were reasonable in the circumstances.
Slightly slow out, raced in midfield on the inside, 2 wide after passing 700M, peaked early in straight, eased final 150M. (See Racing Incidents.) (Blood in trachea.)
Incident Report
Briefly held up for clear running near the 400 Metres.
Began only fairly and made contact, raced behind midfield on the inside, 2 wide from 550M, 4 lengths back turning in, failed to close off in straight.
Incident Report

Began awkwardly, taken back to race towards rear on the inside, angled out after passing 700M, 3 to 4 lengths back turning in, no clear run early in straight, cleared approaching 200M, made some progress thereafter.
Incident Report
After travelling a short distance lay in and was bumped on the hindquarters. After being shifted behind BRAVE WIN near the 900 Metres then shifted out making the first turn. Near the 450 Metres was bumped and taken wider by BRAVE WIN. A Atzeni stated that his mount travelled only fairly during the event and failed to respond to his riding when under pressure in the Home Straight. Trainer J Richards advised that he had been satisfied with the horse in the lead up to today’s race which included a barrier trial conducted on 31 October 2025 when the horse performed well. He said as the horse settled slightly further back in the field than he expected and was hampered on the Home Turn he was not too disappointed with its performance, particularly being up in weight today. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of JUBILANT WINNER was considered disappointing as compared to its previous race starts. Before being allowed to race again, JUBILANT WINNER will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
Made contact at start, raced 2 wide in midfield, wider after passing 700M, 2-1/2L back turning in, no clear run early in straight, cleared 250M, ran on evenly to the line.

Out with rest, positioned 2 wide better than midfield, angled out approaching 650M, 3 wide turning in, showed good response in straight, hit the front 150M, kept on well to hold off the challengers late.
Incident Report
When questioned Apprentice P N Wong stated that her mount jumped awkwardly and as a result became unbalanced. She said afterwards she was of the opinion the horse may commence to buck and for this reason she did not ride it along shortly after the start. She said when she was satisfied VIGOR ELLEEGANT was not going to react adversely to her riding she then elected to push it along in the early stages in an endeavour to try and hold a more competitive position. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race which included an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of mucus in the horse’s trachea and also found the horse to be a "roarer” which had previously been reported.
Jumped well, sent forward to take the lead, headed near 1050M, sat right behind the leader on turn, peaked early in straight, weakened final 100M.
Incident Report
H Bowman stated that his mount was obliged to race wide and without cover for the majority of the event. He said in the Home Straight his mount did not respond to his riding and he was of the opinion there may have been something amiss with it. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of GOOD CHAP, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, GOOD CHAP will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
