Bumped start, raced in midfield on the inside, angled out approaching 400M, 4 lengths back turning in, showed very good response in straight, took the lead 50M, kept on well but unable to hold off the winner close home.

Shifted out abruptly at the start, was bumped on the hindquarters and became unbalanced.

Began well, positioned 1-1/2L behind the leader on the inside, saved ground on turn, finished off strongly, just beaten by a narrow margin.

Shifted in at the start and was bumped. Near the 150 Metres rider M L Yeung dropped his whip. Over the final 100 Metres raced tight between LOOKING BRIGHT and EVERSTAR which shifted in and away from NORDIC DRAGON.

Taken back from gate 9, raced 2 wide towards rear, 6 lengths or so back, same margin back on turn, made minor progress early in straight, peaked 100M, weakened and eased thereafter. (See Racing Incidents.)

Knuckled on jumping, shifted in and made contact with EVERSTAR. Approaching the 50 Metres A Badel had his whip knocked from his grasp by the whip of K C Leung, the rider of VERY GRATEFUL.

Bumped start, raced 2 wide behind midfield, 5 lengths back, 3 wide from 450M, finished off evenly.

Shortly after the start was checked when crowded by FATAL BLOW which shifted out abruptly when being corrected by its rider. After the event Apprentice E C W Wong stated that his mount settled further back in the field after being checked at the start. He said in the Home Straight CHATEAUNEUF ran on only fairly. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. Sent for sampling post-race.

Jumped with them, sent forward to take the lead, led by 1-1/4L turning in, kept on well early in straight, peaked and headed 100M, weakened thereafter. (See Racing Incidents.)

Near the 200 Metres was eased when racing tight between SKY CAP and EVERSTAR which shifted in and away from NORDIC DRAGON.

Average to begin, raced in midfield on the outside, 3 lengths or so back, very wide turning in, finished off very strongly, led close home.

Crowded shortly after the start. After the event Z Purton stated that from a wide barrier his mount settled further back in the field in the early stages to avoid racing wide. He said in the Home Straight KING MILES found it difficult to make up ground from back in the field. Trainer K W Lui stated that Jockey Purton was given the option to hold a more forward position but KING MILES did not show sufficient pace to do so and agreed that the horse was disadvantaged by settling back in the field. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of KING MILES was considered disappointing as comparted to its previous race starts . Before being allowed to race again, KING MILES will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Crowded start, raced at tail, 8 lengths or so back, moved closer after passing 600M, 5 lengths back turning in, peaked early in straight, ran on evenly to the line.
