Held up for clear running for a short distance approaching the 300 Metres. Shifted out approaching the 50 Metres and was bumped. Sent for sampling post-race.

Began fairly, raced in midfield on the inside, saved ground on turn, no daylight early in straight, cleared 200M, kept on well to the line, bumped close home. (See Racing Incidents.)

Jumped only fairly. From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Approaching the 150 Metres was shifted to the inside of MASTER PHOENIX to obtain clear running.

Moderately away, raced 2 wide in midfield, similar position on turn, peaked early in straight, weakened final furlong.

Bumped on two occasions shortly after the start. Trainer P C Ng confirmed that the instructions from a wide barrier were to ride ISLAND BREEZES conservatively in the early stages and to ensure that the horse obtained cover.

Made contact at start, raced 2 wide towards rear, angled out 500M, 4 lengths or so back turning in, made little progress in straight.

Had its right hind plate refitted in the saddling stalls, was examined by the Veterinary Officer and passed suitable to race. Approaching the 50 Metres was bumped by MASTER PHOENIX which shifted out to improve.

Taken back from a wide draw, raced towards rear on the outside, very wide into straight, one-paced in the run home.

Jumped only fairly and shortly after the start was crowded by HAPPY TANGO which shifted out slightly. Over the concluding stages could not be fully ridden out when positioned close to CLUB ACE. After the event, H Bentley reported that his mount raced greenly throughout the event and making the first turn near the 800 Metres shifted out and blundered when positioned close to the heels of ISLAND BREEZES.

Began well from a wide draw, raced in midfield on the outside, 3 lengths or so back turning in, made good progress in straight to take a place, bumped close home.

Shortly after the start shifted in slightly and bumped ISLAND BREEZES and soon after bumped with ISLAND BREEZES again.

Jumped only fairly and blundered shortly after the start, raced 2 wide behind midfield, found rail after passing 900M, saved ground on turn, unable to obtain clear run until final 100M, finished off strongly to score by a neck.

Shortly after the start shifted out and bumped with SAVVY TWINKLE. Approaching the 300 Metres had difficulty obtaining clear running and near the 200 Metres was eased when momentarily crowded between PANDA and BLAZING BEAM which shifted in slightly. Over the concluding stages had some difficulty obtaining clear running when positioned close to BLAZING BEAM.

Average to begin, positioned 2 wide, a length or so back, found rail 900M, saved ground on turn, took the lead approaching 200M, kept on well but unable to hold off the winner close home.

Jumped well from gate 1, sent forward to take the lead, led by a length turning in, peaked and headed approaching 200M, weakened final 100M.

Bumped at the start. After the event, K C Leung reported that it was not his intention to lead the event but was obliged to continue forward in the early stages to avoid racing wide. He added in the Home Straight SAVVY TWINKLE gave ground when placed under pressure. Noted to have lost its left front plate after the race. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Jumped with them, raced towards rear on the inside, saved ground on turn, one-paced in straight.

Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event. After the event, Apprentice P N Wong reported that HAPPY TANGO made a respiratory noise during the running of the race. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
