Taken back to race 2 wide towards rear, 3 wide from 500M, still 10 lengths or so back turning in, made good progress in straight to take a place, no threat to the first two.

Made contact with the right side of its barrier on jumping. Sent for sampling post-race.

Began only fairly, raced at tail, 11 lengths back on turn, very wide into straight, made good progress in the run home without threatening.

Jumped only fairly. Leaving the 1800 Metres was bumped by ACE WAR when racing tight to the inside of that runner. A short distance later BILLIONAIRE SECRET got its head up when being steadied to avoid SILVER KING which shifted out slightly. Lay out on the Home Turn. Sent for sampling post-race.

Began well from a wide draw, raced in 3rd, saved ground on turn, peaked early in straight, weakened final furlong.

Stood flat-footed as the start was effected and as a result was slow to begin. The barrier manners were considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, MANAGEMENT FOLKS will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial.

Taken back from the widest draw, raced 3 wide with cover towards rear, wider from 500M, 10 lengths back turning in, passed some tired runners in straight.

Made contact at start, sent forward to take the lead, enjoyed the easy lead in the middle stages, led by a length turning in, peaked and headed 200M, ran on same pace to take 2nd. (See Racing Incidents.)

Near the 450 Metres had difficulty obtaining clear running when improving into a narrow run between ACE WAR and TRADITION and as a result made contact with TRADITION.

Began awkwardly and made contact, raced at rear throughout, never a factor.

Made contact at start, raced 3 wide behind midfield, 2 wide from 900M, commenced move 500M, 9 to 10 lengths back turning in, failed to make any progress in straight.

Proved difficult to load and delayed the start. The barrier manners were considered unacceptable. The Stewards ruled that JUBILATION will be required to attend barrier practice to the satisfaction of the Starter prior to performing satisfactorily in a barrier trial before being allowed to race again. Bumped at the start. From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

Began smartly from gate 12, sent forward to race in 2nd, easy run to turn, hit the front 200M, kept on very well to the line, won easily.

Near the 1700 Metres was bumped and became unbalanced when taken wider by SILVER KING.

Out with rest, raced 2 wide behind midfield in the early stages, found rail near 900M, saved ground on turn, failed to close off in straight. (Mucus.) (See Racing Incidents.)

From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. A Badel, who weighed in at 118 lbs, was fined the sum of $3,000 for retuning to scale 2 lbs overweight. Near the 500 Metres was hampered when taken wider by BILLIONAIRE SECRET which lay out. Bumped near the 450 Metres.

Began only fairly from a wide draw, trapped wide in midfield, a bit closer after entering the back straight, 6 lengths back turning in, peaked early in straight, weakened thereafter. (Bled.) (See Racing Incidents.)

Shifted in at the start and was bumped. From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. After the event, Apprentice E C W Wong could offer no excuse for his mount’s disappointing performance. Trainer D A Hayes stated that he had been pleased with the horse leading into the race and possibly AFFORDABLE would be better suited by being ridden by a senior rider. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Away well, raced 2 wide in midfield, 3 wide from 850M, dropped towards rear 800M, 2 wide on turn, failed to close off in straight. (See Racing Incidents.)

On jumping was bumped by AFFORDABLE which shifted in slightly. After the event, H Bowman could offer no excuse for his mount’s disappointing performance. Trainer C S Shum stated that JOYFUL PROSPERITY was disadvantaged by carrying the top weight of 135 lbs due to it winning its last three race starts and this may have been a contributing factor to the horse’s disappointing performance. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of JOYFUL PROSPERITY, a winner of its last three starts, was considered disappointing as compared to its previous race starts. Before being allowed to race again, JOYFUL PROSPERITY will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Commenced well, raced in midfield on the inside, 7 lengths back, saved ground on turn, showed limited response early in straight, weakened gradually inside final 150M.

On jumping made contact with JUBILATION and became unbalanced.

Began well from gate 10, raced slightly behind midfield on outer, no cover from 900M, 8 lengths or so back turning in, kept on same pace in straight.

Raced keenly in the early stages and near the 1700 Metres shifted out when positioned close to HAILTOTHEVICTORS. The performance of SILVER KING, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, SILVER KING will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to be a "roarer” which had previously been reported.
