Jumped only fairly. For a short distance near the 300 Metres had difficulty obtaining clear running when improving to the inside of SUPER INFINITY. Approaching the 100 Metres became held up for clear running when disappointed between FLYING FORTRESS and SUPER INFINITY and then shifted to the outside of SUPER INFINITY to obtain clear running.

Slightly slow out, raced at rear on the outside, 6 lengths or so back turning in, failed to close off in straight. (See Racing Incidents.)

Near the 900 Metres was bumped by HE WAS ME which shifted in. For some distance after the 400 Metres was held up for clear running. Near the 250 Metres was then disappointed for clear running between ENTERPRISE ATTACK and BLESSED NATION and was shifted to the outside of BLESSED NATION to secure clear running.

Jumped with them, raced towards rear on the outside, very wide turning in, made good progress in straight to take a place, no threat to the first two.

After the event, Apprentice P N Wong reported that she was instructed to take up a forward position. She said after riding her mount along in the early stages she was unable to cross runners to her inside, resulting in SOLID IMPACT racing wide and without cover for the majority of the event. Trainer D J Hall confirmed the instructions issued. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
