J Moreira stated that his instructions were to go forward. He said after making heavy contact with HYMNBOOK due to both runners shifting ground at the start he was reluctant to go forward as he was concerned he would be obliged to race wide and without cover. He said for this reason he rode SKY VINO in a conservative manner in the early stages.

Out with rest, raced 2 wide behind midfield, angled out after passing 500M, 5 lengths back turning in, made minor progress in the run home.

Near the 400 Metres was directed to the outside of BIG RETURN to obtain clear running, making contact with ENDUED. ENDUED then shifted out, taking GALACTIC VOYAGE and SMART AVENUE wider. C Y Ho was advised to exercise more care.

On jumping made heavy contact with SKY VINO due to both runners shifting ground. Raced keenly in the early stages. Between the 500 Metres and the 400 Metres was held up for clear running and leaving the 400 Metres was steadied to avoid ENDUED.

Near the 400 Metres was hampered when being taken wider by WINNING GOLD which shifted out and made contact with ENDUED. Over the concluding stages raced tight between WINNING GOLD and SMART AVENUE which shifted in. Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.

Hampered and taken wider near the 400 Metres. Leaving the 250 Metres was eased to avoid SMART AVENUE which shifted in slightly. C L Chau reported that his mount, which was racing up in distance tonight, did not settle during the race and found it difficult to make up ground in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
