From draw 1 obtained running in midfield, switched to 2-wide 1100M, driven 400M out, ran on strongly down outside to get up close home.

Near the 250 Metres made contact with ARMOR GOLDEN EAGLE due to both runners shifting ground. Sent for sampling post-race.

Led steadily first half of the race, quickened up pace from 800M, kept going well in the straight and was only caught by winner late stages.

Away on terms, moved up to be tracking the pace on outside, kept up the chase on leader turning home, fought hard but was held by first two late stage. Hung on for 3rd just.

Not hurried early stages, dropped back to a rearward spot 5-6Ls off the pace, ran on well final 300M to be nearest at the line. Just missed out on 3rd.

From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

Settled 2-wide ahead of midfield, in touch making the turn for home, stayed on mildly towards the finish and just lost out in a photo finish for 3rd and 4th.

Had a ground saving trip from draw 2 and stayed close enough behind leaders throughout, kept on steadily when placed under pressure in the straight. Held by leaders.

Soon taken across to the fence and obtained a position behind midfield, 4-5Ls to make up 400M, ran home one paced and was never a serious threat to leaders.

Caught wide early stages, retrained to a rear spot settled further back than intended, had some work to do 400M but made only limited progress to the line.

E Brown stated that the instructions were to hold a midfield position. He said when caught wide in the early stages he shifted his mount behind runners to avoid covering additional ground which resulted in AWESOME FLUKE settling further back in the field than instructed.

Restrained to race in second half of the field, travelled keenly, lost cover from 900M strode forward to chase leaders, run ended mid-straight and had no extra late.

L Hewitson stated that the instructions were to ride the horse with cover in a more conservative manner than its previous race starts. He said POCKETING raced keenly throughout the early and middle stages and when unable to maintain its position with cover behind SILVERY BREEZE he allowed it to stride forward from the 900 Metres which resulted in POCKETING being obliged to race wide and without cover thereafter.

Taken back to near last on jumping from wide draw, raced keenly in middle stages, 5-6Ls off leader home turn but failed to quicken. Never involved.
