Rail position in rear of mid-field, pushed along final bend, challenged up rail from 200m out, tight for room and bumped 150m out, ran on well to get up on line.

Bumped shortly after the start. Near the 550 Metres made contact with the running rail. Near the 150 Metres was bumped by MATTERS MOST when racing tight to the inside of MATTERS MOST which shifted in and away from GUMMY GUMMY before being corrected by its rider. Sent for sampling post-race.

Rail position in mid-field, ridden along 400m out, travelled smoothly and well placed into home straight, ran on well to lead 50m out but headed on line.

Jumped only fairly. Shortly after the start shifted out slightly and made contact with SON PAK FU. K C Leung, who weighed in at 123 lbs, was fined the sum of $5,000 for returning to scale 2 lbs overweight. Sent for sampling post-race.

Near the 150 Metres lay in and made contact with SON PAK FU, resulting in its rider E C W Wong having to correct his mount. Jockey Wong stated that the instructions were to obtain a position behind the early leaders as connections were of the view there was fast pace engaged in the event to the inside of MATTERS MOST.

Three wide in mid-field without cover, good headway final bend, taken wider into home straight, lacked pace to challenge.

Bumped shortly after the start. After the 300 Metres was hampered when taken in by HONEST WITNESS which lay in when giving ground. Between the 200 Metres and the 150 Metres was held up for clear running.

Showed good speed to lead, pressed in front, disputed led final bend, headed top of home straight, gave ground final 200m.

J Moreira stated that his mount failed to respond to his riding in the Home Straight and raced "flat”. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of SKY CAP was considered disappointing as compared to its previous race starts. Before being allowed to race again, SKY CAP will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Dropped out from widest draw, held up last, detached from 500m out, never involved.

Near the 300 Metres lay in when giving ground, resulting in its rider Z Purton having to stop riding and straighten his mount. Z Purton stated that his mount raced too keenly in the middle stages when positioned behind SKY CAP and refused to settle. He said as a result HONEST WITNESS did not finish the race off in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of HONEST WITNESS, a last start winner, was considered disappointing. Before being allowed to race again, HONEST WITNESS will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
