Between the 300 Metres and the 200 Metres had some difficulty obtaining clear running when being shifted to the outside of EFFORTLESS WIN. Sent for sampling post-race.

Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event. A Atzeni stated that he was obliged to make use of the horse in the early stages to hold a forward position and as a result did not run on in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race which included an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse’s trachea. Before being allowed to race again, SPICY STANDARD will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. Sent for sampling post-race.

Jumped awkwardly, positioned 1-1/2L behind the leader on the middle track, hard ridden from 300M but only showed limited response, weakened gradually inside final furlong.

Jumped awkwardly. Near the 900 Metres was checked to avoid THRIVING BROTHERS when that runner lost ground when it shifted in and away from EFFORTLESS WIN (C L Chau) which shifted in. Whilst the Stewards found that THRIVING BROTHERS shifting in and away from EFFORTLESS WIN was the main reason for the incident Jockey Chau was advised to exercise more care. Between the 350 Metres and the 250 Metres had some difficulty obtaining clear running when being shifted to the outside of ACE CHAMPION. Apprentice H Y Yuen stated that her mount did not travel well throughout the event and changed stride on a number of occasions. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Jumped with them, sent forward to take the lead, led by 1/4L at 400M, hard ridden from 350M, kept on well but unable to hold off the winner final 50M.

Despite being ridden along in the early stages failed to show sufficient pace to hold a more forward position. A Badel stated that after settling behind midfield his mount found it difficult to make up ground in the Home Straight from that position. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Moderately away, raced prominently on the middle track, peaked 300M, weakened gradually final 150M.

When giving ground near the 300 Metres was eased to avoid CHILL BUDDY (Apprentice H Y Yuen) when that runner shifted out to improve. Apprentice Yuen was advised to exercise more care.
