L Hewitson stated that the instructions were to hold an on-pace position but not lead. He said when BLING BLING GENIUS commenced well he elected to continue forward from a wide barrier and lead the event to avoid covering additional ground. Sent for sampling post-race.

Began well from gate 10, positioned 1 to 2 lengths behind the leader on the stands' rail early, dropped towards rear gradually after passing 600M, failed to make any progress final 300M.

Began only fairly from gate 1, raced prominently on the middle track, kept on well until approaching 100M, weakened gradually final 50M.

Shifted out abruptly on jumping and made heavy contact with LUCKY YEAR. J Orman stated that his mount did not appreciate the "Good to Yielding” track conditions. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Moderately away, raced prominently on the middle track, peaked 300M, weakened gradually final 150M.

C Y Ho stated that his mount came under pressure after entering the Home Straight and weakened noticeably but he could offer no explanation for the horse’s disappointing run. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of GALLANT EPOCH was considered disappointing as compared to its previous race starts. Before being allowed to race again, GALLANT EPOCH will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
