Began only fairly, raced behind midfield on the inside, saved ground on turn, made some progress early in straight, kept on evenly inside final furlong. (See Racing Incidents.)

Trainer M Newnham confirmed that the intention was to lead the event but THOUSAND SPIRIT failed to show sufficient pace in the early stages to do so. Sent for sampling post-race.

Slightly slow out, raced at tail, 8-1/2L back turning in, made little progress in straight.

Noted to have blood at the left nostril after the race. An endoscopic examination conducted on KA YING ATTACK found that there was no blood in its trachea and therefore the blood in the nostril was determined to be not coming from the lungs and as such the horse was deemed not to have bled.

Out with rest, raced 2 wide slightly better than midfield, angled out approaching 700M, 4 wide turning in, finished off well to take a place.

Near the 100 Metres was hampered when it shifted out and away from THOUSAND SPIRIT which shifted out.

Average to begin, sent forward to race prominently, 2 wide, hard ridden from 600M but only showed limited response, weakened early in straight. (See Racing Incidents.)

Taken back from a wide draw, raced towards rear on the outside, very wide turning in, made very good progress in straight to be nearest on line.

When questioned B Avdulla stated that his instructions were to go forward but attempt to find cover if possible. He said from the outside barrier after commencing well he was obliged to continue forward to cross ANODE and KA YING ATTACK to avoid racing wide when there was no opportunity to obtain cover. He said after positioning to the outside of GOLD PATCH near the 900 Metres SUPER EXPRESS, which was racing in blinkers for the first time, commenced to race keenly which resulted in the horse being positioned approximately half a length in front of GOLD PATCH. He said although he was aware he was running inside of standard time he was unable to set a more sustainable pace due to the racing manners of the horse. He added in the Home Straight when under pressure SUPER EXPRESS hung in and proved difficult to ride out. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. Sent for sampling post-race.

Began smartly from gate 1, sent forward to take the lead, travelled comfortably to turn, kept on well in straight to hold off the challengers.

Held up making the Home Turn. Noted to have bled from both nostrils after the race. As this was the second occasion that SOUTH STAR had bled, the horse is ineligible to run in any race conducted by the Club in the future.

Made contact at start, raced 2 wide behind midfield, moved a bit closer after passing 700M, wide into straight, made some headway in the run home.

Near the 800 Metres was momentarily crowded between VULCANUS and ANODE which shifted in. A Atzeni stated that his mount, which was racing first up today, would derive a fitness benefit from today’s performance. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Jumped with them, raced 2 wide in midfield, improved after passing 800M, challenged the leader turning in, kept on well in straight to take 2nd, always held.

Jumped awkwardly. From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

Began well, raced slightly better than midfield on the inside, saved ground on turn, showed limited response in straight, kept on same pace to the line.

Jumped only fairly. Near the 800 Metres raced tight to the inside of SUNNY DA BEST.

Moderately away, raced in midfield on the inside, 2 wide approaching 700M, 4 lengths or so back turning in, one-paced in straight.
