Slightly slow out and made contact, raced at rear on the inside, angled out 550M, 5 to 6 lengths back turning in, passed some tired runners in straight.
Jumped with them, raced 2 wide in midfield, improved after passing 800M, challenged the leader turning in, kept on well in straight to take 2nd, always held.
Moderately away from gate 1, raced behind midfield on the inside, 5 lengths or so back, same margin back on turn, no clear run early in straight, made no progress thereafter.

SWISS ACE was trained by Mick Mair with a record 12 wins in 20 starts, and was a champion of G1 Oakleigh Plate at Caulfield and 1st runner up in Newmarket Handicap beaten by SCENIC BLAST narrowly in 2009. 22 runners of him enjoyed the joy of black types contests. Most of the SWISS ACE's progeny in HK performed well in both turf and dirt, and they are talented at sprint, UGLY WARRIOR, LITTLE GIANT and FLYING ACE are representatives. His service fee in 2025 is NZD$ 5,000. CHICKEN DINNER was formerly known as TEXAS HOLD 'EM and trained by Lance O'Sullivan & Andrew Scott in New Zealand with 1 win and 1 third in 5 starts. He broke his maiden on his 2nd attempt over 1200M where he settled midfield early and dashed well late at Ellerslie but always at rear to finish last in 1400M G2 Auckland Guineas with blinkers, then ran on for 3rd in a 1200M set weight event without threatening at Tauranga. Two of his full-brother and sister could handle up to 1400M. The bay gelding should be a sprinter that fine at Happy Valley.
