Slowly away, raced 2 wide behind midfield, 3 wide from 800M, 4 lengths back on turn, very wide into straight, finished off evenly.

Bumped on jumping. Raced keenly in the early stages, resulting in its rider C L Chau making a forward move from the 900 Metres. Near the 150 Metres C L Chau dropped his whip. Sent for sampling post-race.

Began well from a wide draw, raced in 2nd early, positioned 2 wide better than midfield in the middle stages, peaked near 400M, weakened gradually in straight. (See Racing Incidents.)

Made contact at start, raced 2 wide behind midfield, angled out 800M, moved closer after passing 650M, challenged the leader turning in, took the lead early in straight, kept on well to the line, won by a nose.

Shifted out on jumping and made contact with KEEFY. Z Purton stated that with the early and middle stages of the event being run outside of standard time his mount raced too keenly and as a consequence was unable to run on strongly in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. Sent for sampling post-race.

Jumped well, raced better than midfield on the inside, saved ground on turn, finished off well but just lost out to the winner in a ding-dong finish.

Bumped on jumping. J Orman stated that the intention was to hold a midfield position. He said in the early stages his mount was caught wide and without cover and when the early stages of the event were run outside of standard time he allowed his mount to stride forward to settle outside the lead to avoid covering additional ground.

Taken back from gate 9, raced at rear on the inside, saved ground throughout, made some progress early in straight, peaked 150M, weakened final 100M.

Bumped at the start. M L Yeung stated that after settling back in the field his mount found it difficult to make up ground from that position due to the early and middle stages of the event being run outside of standard time. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Commenced well, raced in midfield on the inside, 2 wide turning in, finished off evenly.

H Bowman stated that his mount was able to hold a handy position in the early stages. He said when the race quickened from the 800 Metres when WITHOUT COMPARE went forward he was obliged to ride his mount along sooner than he would have liked to maintain a competitive position. He added after making a wide run on the Home Turn FLYING FORTRESS failed to respond to his riding in the Home Straight and weakened noticeably over the concluding stages. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. Before being allowed to race again, FLYING FORTRESS will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
