Sent for sampling post-race. Z Purton was severely reprimanded for using the whip on consecutive occasions in 2 consecutive strides near the 150 Metres.

Taken back from a wide draw, raced at rear on the outside, commenced move approaching 450M, very wide turning in, made some progress early in straight, peaked 150M, kept on same pace to the line.

Shifted out on jumping, raced 3 wide with cover slightly better than midfield, wider turning in, kept on well until crowded close home.

On jumping became unbalanced when bumped on the hindquarters. In the early stages raced ungenerously and refused to settle. Approaching the 1000 Metres was steadied when racing in restricted room between SWAGGER BRO and SKY CAP.

Average to begin, raced in midfield, 3 lengths or so back, showed no response early in straight, unseated inside final 100M. (See Racing Incidents.)

Lay in over the final 100 Metres and over the concluding stages shifted in and made slight contact with SWAGGER BRO. C Y Ho reported that he was given no specific instructions. He said when caught wide in the early stages he elected to ride the horse in a conservative manner to avoid covering additional ground.

Began well from gate 1, raced better than midfield on the inside, saved ground to turn, showed limited response early in straight, weakened gradually inside final furlong.

On jumping made contact with SWAGGER BRO. H Bowman was fined the sum of $10,000 for failing to ride his mount out to the end of the race to the satisfaction of the Stewards. In assessing penalty the Stewards determined that Jockey Bowman prejudiced his mount’s chances of finishing in 5th placing.

Shortly after the start made contact with VIEW OF COSMOS due to both runners shifting ground.

Blundered shortly after start, tracked leaders on the outside, challenged the leader turning in, took the lead early in straight, peaked and headed 75M, weakened gradually thereafter.

On jumping shifted out and made heavy contact with KING OBERON. From a wide barrier was then shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

Jumped with them, sent forward to take the lead, challenged by rivals on turn, peaked and headed 300M, weakened final 200M. (See Racing Incidents.) (Mucus in trachea.)

Taken back to race towards rear on the outside, moved a bit closer after passing 750M, very wide turning in, finished off strongly to gain a dead heat victory. (See Racing Incidents.)

Bumped heavily on jumping and became unbalanced. B Avdulla stated that from the outside barrier he had to make use of his mount in the early stages to go forward as instructed. He said when SKY CAP improved to his outside leaving the 700 Metres his mount came under pressure and did not finish the race off thereafter. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Hampered shortly after start, raced at rear on the inside, 2 wide from 700M, 4 lengths or so back turning in, made good progress in straight, crowded close home. (See Racing Incidents.)

On jumping shifted in and made contact with the hindquarters of WINNING CHAMPION.

Commenced well, raced 2 wide better than midfield, 3 wide after passing 450M, no clear run early in straight, cleared approaching 150M, hit the front 75M, kept on well to the line and scored. (Dead-Heat)
