After travelling a short distance was crowded between NOBLE FANS and STORMY KNIGHT which shifted out. Over the final 150 Metres had difficulty obtaining clear running and as a result could not be fully tested to the finish.

K C Leung stated that the intention was to hold a handy position with cover. He said when caught wide in the early stages he was obliged to continue forward to cross runners to his inside which resulted in DASH leading the event.

Leaving the 900 Metres commenced to race keenly when being steadied to allow DASH to cross. Approaching the 50 Metres was steadied when crowded between DASH and STORMY KNIGHT which was taken in by ALWAYS FLUKE (C Y Ho) which was directed to the inside of TEAM HAPPY. C Y Ho was reprimanded. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Shortly after the start was bumped and became unbalanced. R Kingscote stated that from a wide barrier he was instructed to go forward as connections were of the opinion there was not significant pace engaged in the race. He added that when placed under pressure in the Home Straight his mount failed to respond and gave ground. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
