Taken back from gate 13, raced towards rear on the outside, there to turn, made good progress in straight to make frame, nearest on line.

Made contact with the left side of its starting gate on jumping, raced at rear on the inside, moved a bit closer after passing 1000M, 2 wide from 700M, no daylight early in straight, cleared 200M, closed off strongly to score.

Jumped awkwardly. When questioned regarding his riding in the Home Straight and the reason his mount shifted to the rail to make its run M Guyon stated that after following DO YOUR PART into the Home Straight DO YOUR PART then shifted out which resulted in him improving to the inside of that runner. He added as SUPER EXPRESS was laying in at that point he elected to allow it to shift in towards the rail to improve to the inside of RIDING TOGETHER so that the horse would not resist his efforts to maintain its position away from the rail. He said after obtaining a position on the rail near the 300 Metres SUPER EXPRESS raced truly to the winning post and he was able to fully test his mount over the final 300 Metres. Sent for sampling post-race.

C Y Ho reported that his mount commenced to give ground when under pressure in the Home Straight and it gave him concern in the manner in which it weakened over the concluding stages. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. Before being allowed to race again, SUNNY DA BEST will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

On jumping shifted in, made contact with the right side of its starting gate and as a result became unbalanced. Leaving the 400 Metres was hampered when taken wider by POSITIVE SMILE which shifted out to improve. Y L Chung stated that the intention from a wide barrier was to ride the horse in a conservative manner in the early stages. He said when LIGHTNESS OF BEING jumped well and the early stages of the event were run outside of standard time this resulted in his mount holding an on-pace position three wide with cover. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Commenced well, sent forward to take the lead, shared lead turning in, peaked and headed 300M, weakened inside final furlong. (Blood in trachea.)

Approaching the 500 Metres SUPER JOY N FUN (C L Chau) improved into a doubtful run to the inside of LIGHTNESS OF BEING when that runner shifted out slightly. A short distance later AURIO (Z Purton) shifted to the outside of SUPER EXPRESS to improve which contributed to SUPER JOY N FUN blundering when it struck the heels of LIGHTNESS OF BEING. C L Chau was reprimanded for allowing his mount to improve into a position where there was not sufficient room to do so. Z Purton was reprimanded for permitting his mount to shift out, contributing to SUPER JOY N FUN striking heels. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
