Average to begin, raced in midfield on the outside, 3 lengths or so back, similar position on turn, peaked early in straight, weakened final furlong. (See Racing Incidents.) (Lame right front leg.)

Slightly slow out from the widest draw, raced at rear on the inside, saved ground on turn, kept to inside after straightening and made some progress until not enough room final 100M.

When questioned, J Orman stated that the instructions were to find a midfield position with cover if possible. He said in the early stages when caught wide and to the outside of LUCKY TOGETHER he then elected near the 800 Metres to ride his mount forward in an attempt to cross LUCKY TOGETHER and hold a position behind GIANT LEAP. He added as he did so LIFELINE EXPRESS shifted out and as a consequence he was obliged to race very wide and without cover for the majority of the event. After considering his explanation the Stewards found the tactics adopted by Jockey Orman were reasonable in the circumstances. Sent for sampling post-race.

Taken back from a wide draw, raced at rear on the outside, moved a bit closer after passing 1300M, made contact near 900M, 4 lengths or so back on turn, very wide turning in, weakened early in straight. (See Racing Incidents.)

Fast into stride, showed good speed to take the lead, led by 1/2L turning in, peaked and headed 200M, weakened approaching final 100M.

Z Purton reported that his left foot made contact with the running board of the barrier structure on jumping. He added that he was able to hold a position outside the lead but his mount gave ground under pressure in the Home Straight. Z Purton was subsequently examined by the Chief Medical Officer and passed fit to fulfil his remaining riding engagements. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Out with rest, taken back to race towards rear on the outside, 5-1/4L back turning in, made very good progress in straight to take a place, no threat to the first two.

Jumped only fairly. K Teetan reported that his mount raced greenly throughout the event.

Jumped with them, raced better than midfield on the outside, 2nd after entering the back straight, 1/2L back turning in, hit the front 200M, kept on well but unable to hold off the winner final 100M.

Jumped only fairly, raced behind midfield on the inside, 2 wide turning in, unable to obtain clear run until approaching final 150M, made minor progress thereafter.

Jumped only fairly. From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Raced greenly throughout the early and middle stages. Near the 750 Metres became unbalanced and lost ground when racing tight to the inside of DANICA’S CHOICE (K Teetan) which shifted in and away from LUCKY TOGETHER. K Teetan was advised to exercise more care.

K C Leung reported that his mount travelled well in the lead but became immediately under pressure when challenged by PI LEGEND near the 300 Metres before giving ground thereafter. Trainer W K Mo stated that the horse was disadvantaged by having to be used up from a wide barrier to go forward carrying the top weight of 133 lbs. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
