Out with rest, raced behind midfield on the outside, very wide turning in, failed to make any progress in straight.

Shifted in at the start and made contact with WINNING CIGAR. In the Home Straight lay in and proved difficult to ride out. Sent for sampling post-race.

Began well from gate 1, raced better than midfield on the inside, saved ground on turn, showed no response early in straight, eased final 150M. (See Racing Incidents.)

When questioned Z Purton stated that his instructions were to hold the lead in accordance with the horse’s usual racing pattern. He said in the early stages after jumping well he obtained a position to the outside of LEAN MASTER and he had expected that horse not show as much pace as his mount and therefore he would be able to cross that runner. He said when LEAN MASTER continued to hold its position to his inside entering the Back Straight he elected to allow WINNING MONEY to stride forward to cross that runner as he was of the opinion had he endeavoured to restrain his mount it would have commenced to race keenly and also as it has a tendency to hang out in its races. He added as a consequence throughout the middle stages WINNING MONEY set a faster pace than he would have liked. Trainer K W Lui confirmed the instructions issued and also agreed with Jockey Purton that WINNING MONEY has a tendency to race keenly and hang out when restrained. Sent for sampling post-race.

Bumped start, raced in midfield on the inside, angled out after passing 450M, 3 lengths or so back turning in, finished off very strongly to score.

Over the concluding stages raced tight between SUGAR SUGAR and GIANT BALLON which lay in.

Bumped start, raced 2 wide in midfield, similar position on turn, showed limited response early in straight, blocked near 100M, eased thereafter. (See Racing Incidents.)

From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Near the 200 Metres made contact with HEROIC MASTER when being shifted to the inside of SPEEDY TRIDENT to continue into clear running. Over the concluding stages was eased and shifted to the outside of GOLDEN LUCK to continue into clear running.

Slowly away, raced at tail, 8 lengths back, same margin back turning in, made some progress in straight.

From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Over the final 100 Metres lay in and proved difficult to ride out to the finish of the race.

Bumped start, raced 2 wide behind midfield, travelled keenly in the early stages, found rail near 700M, saved ground on turn, made some progress in straight, no threat to the first few.

On jumping made heavy contact with SPEEDY TRIDENT when crowded by GIANT BALLON.

Fast into stride, sent forward to take the lead, led by 3/4L turning in, kept on well early in straight, peaked and headed 75M, ran on evenly to take 2nd.

From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. In the early stages raced keenly and for some distance near the 1000 Metres was steadied away from SPEEDY TRIDENT. Near the 200 Metres was bumped by LAKESHORE HERO which shifted in.

Taken back from the widest draw, raced 2 wide at rear, 7 lengths or so back turning in, made some progress early in straight, blocked approaching 150M, cleared 100M, finished off well to take a place.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
