Had difficulty obtaining clear running between the 400 Metres and the 300 Metres. When being shifted to the outside of AMAZING DUCK near the 300 Metres made contact with THE LION KING. Sent for sampling post-race.

Approaching the 150 Metres was eased and shifted to the inside of GLORIASTAR to continue into clear running. C Y Ho reported that the intention was to hold a more forward position but after beginning only fairly his mount did not show sufficient pace to do so.

Began only fairly and crowded, raced towards rear on the middle track, 3 lengths back, made no progress final 400M.

Began only fairly, raced behind midfield on the middle track, closer in the middle stages, a length back at 400M, hard ridden approaching 300M, showed very good response, took the lead 250M, kept on strongly to the line and scored.

M F Poon stated that from the outside barrier he was given the option of holding a more forward position. He said whilst TIME TO FIRE commenced well it did not show sufficient pace in the early stages to do so and as a consequence settled back in the field. He added that with the early stages of the event being run outside of standard time TIME TO FIRE finished the race off only fairly in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Average to begin, raced prominently in the middle of the track, hard ridden from 300M but only showed limited response, ran on evenly.

Near the 1400 Metres was steadied to avoid OLDTOWN when shifting in to obtain cover behind that runner.

Bumped on jumping, positioned 2 lengths behind the leader, nearer to the middle track, no clear run until approaching 150M, one-paced thereafter.

Held up for clear running between the 400 Metres and 300 Metres. Near the 200 Metres was steadied to avoid CONSPIRACY WITNESS (A Atzeni) which, after improving to the inside of PEARL OF PANG’S was then taken in slightly as PEARL OF PANG’S was giving ground. A Atzeni was advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances.

Jumped well from gate 13, sent forward to take the lead on the stands' rail, hard ridden approaching 300M but only showed limited response, headed 250M, kept on evenly to take a place.

Knuckled over on jumping. When caught very wide in the early stages was ridden forward near the 800 Metres to cross GLORIASTAR after which PEARL OF PANG’S raced wide and without cover thereafter. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

J McDonald could offer no explanation for the horse’s disappointing performance. Trainer W Y So expressed disappointment with the performance of OLDTOWN but added that the horse was disadvantaged by carrying 134 lbs at its first run over 1600 Metres. He added that it is his intention to relocate the horse to Conghua Racecourse for a freshen-up and will barrier trial OLDTOWN before racing again. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
