Moderately away from gate 1, raced behind midfield on the inside, 5 lengths or so back, same margin back on turn, no clear run early in straight, made no progress thereafter.

Hung in in the Home Straight and proved difficult to ride out. A warning was placed on the racing manners of LOCH TAY. Sent for sampling post-race.

Quickly into stride, positioned 2 lengths behind the leader on the inside, there to turn, showed limited response early in straight, weakened gradually final 150M. (See Racing Incidents.)

Leaving the 200 Metres shifted out slightly and was bumped on the hindquarters by PRECISION GOAL which was taken in. Sent for sampling post-race.

Passing the 200 Metres was checked when crowded by LOCH TAY (R Kingscote) which hung in despite the efforts of its rider. As a result GOOD LUCK BABE was taken in and made heavy contact with PRECISION GOAL. The Stewards found that LOCH TAY was hanging in during this incident and were of the opinion that Jockey Kingscote had made significant endeavour to prevent the horse from shifting in. However, he was severely reprimanded and advised that in similar circumstances he would be expected to stop riding and straighten his mounts when they shift ground.

Made contact with the right side of its starting gate, raced prominently, difficult to settle in the early stages, made contact 900M, 2 lengths back on turn, weakened early in straight, eased final 150M. (See Racing Incidents.)
