Began well from gate 1, raced better than midfield on the inside, saved ground on turn, took the lead 200M, kept on very well to the line, won by 2Ls. (See Racing Incidents.)
Sat last, made some minor late ground.
Slightly slow out and made contact, raced at rear on the inside, angled out 550M, 5 to 6 lengths back turning in, passed some tired runners in straight.
Jumped awkwardly and lost ground, raced in midfield on the inside, saved ground on turn, kept on same pace in straight. (Sustained an abrasion to its left front leg.)
Crowded shortly after start, positioned 3 lengths behind the leader on the middle track, made no progress final 400M. (See Racing Incidents.)
Bumped start, raced in midfield on the inside, saved ground on turn, no clear run until approaching final 100M, kept on same pace to the line.

SMART MISSILE was trained by Anthony Cummings with 3 wins 1 second in 6 starts. He won a listed contest in 2YO and lifted the Todman Stakes, but missed the Golden Slipper because of injury. He made a strong return at the age of 3 by winning a G3 contest by beating FOXWEDGE and HELMET; placed 2nd in Golden Rose Stakes. Without winning a G1 title, he turns into stallion after failing in G1 Caulfield Guineas. 27 runners of him won the black type contests and his service fee in 2025 is AUD$ 13,200. KYRUS TREASURE was sold at NZD$ 200,000 in 2023 NZB Ready To Run Sale where he finished 200M in 10.64s during the breeze up run. Same sire runner BRIASA just landed G1 T J Smith Stakes in 2025. His dam SPECTACULAR VISION collected 2 wins at 1997M and 2400M while former New Zealand listed winner and HK runner HAPPY QIJI with 1 third in 5 HK starts is her half-brother. The grey gelding looks like his dam’s sire MASTERCRAFTSMAN that should be fine to handle middle distance events and no issue on soft going.
