Bumped start, sent forward to take the early lead, headed near 900M, 2nd on turn, peaked early in straight, weakened final 250M. (A minor laceration to the left hock.)

Near the 250 Metres rider K C Leung dropped his whip. Lay in in the Home Straight. Sent for sampling post-race.

Slowly away, raced at rear on the inside, angled out approaching 500M, kept on evenly in straight. (See Racing Incidents.)

Jumped only fairly. Y L Chung was reprimanded for using the whip on consecutive occasions in 4 consecutive strides near the 150 Metres.

Between the 400 Metres and the 300 Metres was held up for clear running and when being shifted across the heels of HARMONY N BLESSED, RAGING BLIZZARD blundered.

Jumped awkwardly, positioned 2 wide slightly behind midfield, 3 lengths back turning in, no clear run early in straight, made good progress final 200M to make frame.

Near the 800 Metres BEAUTY WAVES, which was racing keenly, was checked to avoid BOTTOMUPTOGETHER (M F Poon) which shifted in when not clear as its rider eased the pace. M F Poon was reprimanded. After the event A Badel stated that his mount jumped awkwardly and lost ground. He said in the early stages BEAUTY WAVES then raced keenly and after being checked making the first turn finished the race off only fairly in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Jumped with rest, positioned 2 wide, 2 lengths or so back, there to turn, showed some response early in straight, peaked on run 150M, kept on same pace to the line.

The explanation provided by Jockey K De Melo for returning to scale overweight was accepted.

Approaching the 150 Metres was steadied when crowded by GORGEOUS WIN (Apprentice P N Wong) which shifted in. Whilst the Stewards accepted that Apprentice Wong had made some effort to prevent her mount from shifting in she was advised to exercise more care.

Jumped well from gate 11, raced 3 wide, 2 lengths or so back, similar position on turn, one-paced in the run home.

Between the 350 Metres and the 250 Metres rider H Bentley had difficulty fully testing his mount when his whip became entangled in his rein.

Moderately away from gate 1, raced in midfield on the inside, saved ground on turn, peaked early in straight, weakened final furlong.

Taken back from the widest draw, raced towards rear on the outside, very wide into straight, finished off very strongly to score. (A small laceration to the right front cannon.)
