Prior to declaring weighed-in the Stewards gave consideration as to whether there were grounds for a protest/objection against CALIFORNIA MOXIE due to CALIFORNIA MOXIE and AMAZING GAZE making contact after the 250 Metres. When the Stewards were satisfied that the contact was due to both runners shifting ground, having regard to the manner in which both horses finished the race off, the Stewards declined to lodge the protest/objection and declared weighed-in on the numbers semaphored by the Judge. For some distance after the 100 Metres raced tight between CALIFORNIA MOXIE and JUMBO FORTUNE, both of which shifted ground slightly.

Bumped shortly after start, raced 3 wide towards rear, hard ridden from 400M, very wide turning in, made some progress in straight.

After the event B Thompson stated that when caught wide in the early stages and unable to obtain cover he elected to allow JUMBO FORTUNE to stride forward and take up a position outside the lead to avoid covering additional ground.

Began well from gate 1, positioned 1-3/4L behind the leader on the inside, same position on turn, finished off well to take 2nd, just beaten by a narrow margin.

Bumped at the start. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Bumped start and unbalanced, sent forward to take the lead, led by 1/2L turning in, kept on well in straight to hold off the challengers.

After the event K C Leung reported that his mount over-raced during the race and as a result was unable to finish the race off in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race which included an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse’s trachea. Before being allowed to race again, ZETTA FORCE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
