Began well, raced in 2nd, 1/2L back, challenged the leader turning in, took the lead 400M, kept on well but unable to hold off the winner final 150M, finished 2nd.

Incident Report
Near the 250 Metres race tight between TIER FLY and RIGHTEOUS ARION which shifted out slightly. Sent for sampling post-race.

Slowly away, raced 2 wide behind midfield, moved a bit closer on turn, hard ridden approaching 300M, closed off well to take a place, no threat to the first two.

After the event L Ferraris stated that his mount hung in when placed under pressure in the Home Straight and proved difficult to ride. Sent for sampling post-race.

Bumped shortly after start, taken back to race at rear, 6-1/2L back turning in, made no impression in straight.

A Badel was fined the sum of $2,000 for failing to present himself in the Parade Ring by the required time.

Began only fairly, positioned 3 lengths behind the leader on the inside, saved ground on turn, kept on well in straight to make frame without threatening. (See Racing Incidents.) (Lame left front leg.)

Approaching the 100 Metres had difficulty obtaining clear running when attempting to improve into a narrow run to the inside of RIGHTEOUS ARION. As a result STELLAR SWIFT could not be ridden out fully to the finish when it continued to race tight to the inside of RIGHTEOUS ARION.

Average to begin, raced 2 wide better than midfield, there to turn, showed limited response early in straight, weakened gradually inside final furlong.

Jumped awkwardly. Crowded leaving the 600 Metres.

Approaching the 900 Metres was steadied when being shifted behind SAVVY BRILLIANT to obtain cover.

Crowded shortly after start, taken back to race at rear on the outside, wide into straight, made no progress in straight.

Bumped shortly after the start. After the event Apprentice E C W Wong reported that the instructions were to endeavour to lead the event. He said when unable to cross runners to his inside in the early stages his mount settled further back than intended. He added SUPER LEGENDS lay in in the middle stages and failed to respond to his riding in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Moderately away from gate 1, raced better than midfield on the inside, 1-1/2L back turning in, showed good response in straight, took the lead 150M, kept on well to the line and scored.

A Atzeni was fined the sum of $2,000 for failing to present himself in the Parade Ring by the required time. In the early stages raced keenly and approaching the 1000 Metres got its head up when being steadied to obtain a position behind REGAL GEM. SAVVY BRILLIANT continued to race keenly in the middle stages. Leaving the 600 Metres shifted in when racing tight to the inside of CHARMING BABE, made contact with KEMPES and became unbalanced. Between the 400 Metres and the 300 Metres had difficulty obtaining clear running. Over the final 150 Metres was positioned close to KEMPES and as a result could not be fully ridden out.

Made contact at start, taken back to race 2 wide behind midfield, there to turn, finished off evenly.

Shifted in at the start and was bumped. Near the 250 Metres was bumped by INFINITE RESOLVE which hung in.

Taken back from the widest draw, raced behind midfield on the inside, saved ground on turn, made minor progress early in straight, peaked 250M, weakened gradually final furlong.

Raced keenly in the early stages when being crossed by RIGHTEOUS ARION.

Moderately away, raced 3 wide with cover behind midfield, 4 lengths or so back, similar position on turn, failed to close off in straight.

Shortly after the start bumped with SUPER LEGENDS and then was crowded by TIER FLY which shifted in. In the Home Straight lay in.

Commenced well, raced 3 wide with cover in midfield, 3 lengths or so back, same margin back on turn, peaked early in straight, weakened thereafter. (See Racing Incidents.)

After the event K C Leung confirmed that with the horse dropping back in distance he was instructed to ride it in a conservative manner in the early stages from the outside barrier. He added that in the Home Straight his mount did not respond to his riding and was coughing. Trainer P C Ng confirmed the instructions issued. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race which included an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse’s trachea. Before being allowed to race again, TURIN STARSPANGLED will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. <2/6/2025 Additional Veterinary Reports> TURIN STARSPANGLED, which performed disappointingly, was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said at that time an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in its trachea. TURIN STARSPANGLED was again examined by the Veterinary Officer at the stables of Trainer P C Ng yesterday morning. He said at this time he noted the horse to be swollen in its left front fetlock. As previously advised, TURIN STARSPANGLED will be subjected to an official veterinary examination before being allowed to race again.
