Jumped awkwardly and lost ground. Between the 400 Metres and the 300 Metres was held up for clear running. Sent for sampling post-race.

Raced keenly throughout the early and middle stages. Near the 750 Metres was then checked to avoid AMAZING GALAXY when that runner was being steadied to allow HAPPY PARK to cross. Sent for sampling post-race.

Moderately away from gate 1, raced better than midfield on the inside, 1-1/2L back turning in, showed good response in straight, took the lead 150M, kept on well to the line and scored.

Jumped only fairly and then was crowded by PRESTIGE HALL which shifted in. For some distance after the 800 Metres was steadied to avoid DIRIYA. Approaching the 600 Metres was checked to avoid DIRIYA, shifted out and bumped CLUB ACE. After the race the Veterinary Surgeon reported that the horse had sustained a minor wound to its right front cannon.

Crowded shortly after start, taken back to race at rear on the outside, wide into straight, made no progress in straight.

Leaving the 700 Metres was steadied when momentarily crowded by AMAZING GALAXY which shifted in and away from KA YING WARRIOR when racing tight to the inside of that runner. Between the 400 Metres and the 150 Metres was held up for clear running.

Slowly away, raced 2 wide behind midfield, moved a bit closer on turn, hard ridden approaching 300M, closed off well to take a place, no threat to the first two.

Taken back from the widest draw, raced behind midfield on the inside, saved ground on turn, made minor progress early in straight, peaked 250M, weakened gradually final furlong.

Bumped shortly after the start. Near the 750 Metres was steadied to avoid PRESTIGE HALL. Near the 650 Metres became unbalanced when crowded between PRESTIGE HALL and BETTER AND BETTER which shifted out.

Made contact at start, taken back to race 2 wide behind midfield, there to turn, finished off evenly.

Approaching the finish was steadied when crowded by PRESTIGE HALL (H Bowman) which shifted in before being corrected by its rider. H Bowman was advised to exercise more care. Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event. After the race, an endoscopic examination was conducted on KA YING WARRIOR at the request of Trainer T P Yung. The Veterinary Surgeon said this examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse’s trachea. Before being allowed to race again, KA YING WARRIOR will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Made contact at start, raced towards rear on outer, 6 lengths back turning in, passed some tired runners in straight.

Between the 450 Metres and the 200 Metres was held up for clear running behind LUCKY SYMPHONY. Over the final 200 Metres could not be fully tested when it continued to race close behind LUCKY SYMPHONY. After the event K Teetan reported that his mount raced keenly and after the 700 Metres shifted in and away from KA YING WARRIOR when positioned tight to the inside of that runner.

Commenced well, raced 3 wide with cover in midfield, 3 lengths or so back, same margin back on turn, peaked early in straight, weakened thereafter. (See Racing Incidents.)

After the event L Ferraris stated that the intention was to lead. He said despite riding his mount along in the early stages it did not show sufficient pace to do so and when unable to cross KA YING WARRIOR his mount was obliged to race very wide and without cover for the majority of the event. He added that in the Home Straight his mount was left without a finishing effort and raced greenly. Noted to have lost its right front plate after the race. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Moderately away, raced 3 wide with cover behind midfield, 4 lengths or so back, similar position on turn, failed to close off in straight.
