Bumped start and unbalanced, raced at rear on the outside, 8 lengths or so back turning in, made no impression in the run home.

On jumping was steadied when crowded between ACCOLADE START and ESCAPE ROUTE, both of which shifted ground. Sent for sampling post-race.

Began well, taken back to race behind midfield on the inside, 5 lengths back on turn, made some progress early in straight, peaked on run 100M, weakened gradually thereafter. (Jockey dropped whip 100M.)

Began smartly from the widest draw, sent forward to take the lead, led by 3/4L turning in, kept on well in straight but unable to hold off the first two final 50M.

Jumped only fairly. Near the 600 Metres was taken wider when SOARING BRONCO shifted to the outside of QINGYUAN STAR. As a result, ATOMIC BEAUTY was obliged to race wide and without cover thereafter. Near the 50 Metres was eased when tightened between DRAGON STAR and SUNDAY’S SERENADE, both of which shifted ground slightly.

Shifted out at start and bumped, raced at rear on the inside, saved ground on turn, failed to close off in straight. (Blood in trachea.)

Raced keenly in the lead in the early stages. After the event, H Bowman stated he was given the option of going forward and leading if his mount commenced well. He said when MIGHTY COMMANDER jumped well he elected to continue forward and lead the event as instructed. Trainer C Fownes confirmed the instructions issued to Jockey Bowman and stated that MIGHTY COMMANDER had performed well when ridden in a forward position when it raced in Australia.

Jumped with them, raced in midfield on the outside, 3 lengths or so back turning in, finished off very strongly to score.

Jumped only fairly. Near the 1300 Metres was eased when racing in restricted room to the inside of SOARING BRONCO which shifted in and away from ATOMIC BEAUTY.

Jumped well, raced in 2nd, 2 wide, 3/4L back turning in, peaked early in straight, steadied near 100M, ran on evenly to the line.

Near the 1500 Metres shifted in and away from MIGHTY COMMANDER when being steadied to avoid that runner’s heels. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Moderately away from gate 1, positioned 1-1/2L behind the leader on the inside, saved ground on turn, kept on well in straight but always held.

After the event, Apprentice E C W Wong stated that with blinkers being applied for the first time he was asked to ride his mount forward from the outside barrier.

Moderately away, raced 2 wide behind midfield, difficult to settle in the early stages, 5 lengths back turning in, made good progress in straight to make frame.

Near the 1500 Metres MIGHTY COMMANDER (H Bowman) shifted in when not clear of FOREVER GLORIOUS, resulting in FOREVER GLORIOUS shifting in and away from MIGHTY COMMANDER, crowding the running of DRAGON STAR and QINGYUAN STAR. H Bowman was reprimanded. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. <17/4/2025 Additional Veterinary Report>QINGYUAN STAR, which performed poorly, was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said at that time there were no significant findings. QINGYUAN STAR was again examined by the Veterinary Officer at the stables of Trainer D J Hall this morning. He said at this time he noted the horse to be lame in its right front leg. Before being allowed to race again, QINGYUAN STAR will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
