Trainer K L Man advised that, in his opinion, SPANGLE FORTUNE was disadvantaged by being pressured in the lead, particularly in the early stages when SHANGHAI STYLE raced to its outside. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to be lame in its right front leg. Before being allowed to race again, SPANGLE FORTUNE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. Sent for sampling post-race.

Taken back from the widest draw, raced 3 wide with cover towards rear, wider from 500M, 10 lengths back turning in, passed some tired runners in straight.

Raced keenly in the early stages. For some distance after the 1300 Metres was steadied away from SPANGLE FORTUNE. Briefly held up for clear running near the 300 Metres between HEALTHY GOLF and SHANGHAI STYLE. Near the 100 Metres was directed to the outside of SPANGLE FORTUNE to continue into clear running.

Made contact at start, raced 3 wide behind midfield, 2 wide from 900M, commenced move 500M, 9 to 10 lengths back turning in, failed to make any progress in straight.

UNITED ENDEAVORS, which had been fractious in the barriers, jumped awkwardly. Despite being ridden along in the early stages failed to show sufficient pace to hold a more forward position. The performance of UNITED ENDEAVORS, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, UNITED ENDEAVORS will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Began awkwardly and made contact, raced at rear throughout, never a factor.

As the start was effected reared and lost ground. The barrier manners and performance of SIKANDAR, which finished tailed out, were considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, SIKANDAR will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
