Began well from gate 1, sent forward to take the lead, led by 1-3/4L turning in, kept on well in straight but unable to hold off the first two late. (Dead-heat 3rd.)

Raced keenly outside the lead throughout the early and middle stages. After the event, K De Melo reported that the intention was to find cover on his mount, but after beginning well DAILY TROPHY took up a more forward position than anticipated.

Began smartly from a wide draw, raced in midfield on the outside, 4 lengths back turning in, made good progress in straight without threatening.

Began only fairly, raced behind midfield on the inside, moved a bit closer along the rail on turn, made good progress early in straight, peaked on run 200M, weakened gradually close home. (See Racing Incidents)

Over the concluding stages raced tight to the inside of HAKKA RADIANCE which was taken in slightly by THESIS. After the event, C Y Ho stated that after initially responding to his riding in the early part of the Home Straight, his mount commenced to give ground passing the 100 Metres and he could offer no explanation for its disappointing performance. Trainer P C Ng could offer no explanation for the disappointing performance of the horse. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. The Stewards considered the performance of EXCEL WONGCHOY to be disappointing as compared to its previous race starts. Before being allowed to race again, EXCEL WONGCHOY will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. Sent for sampling post-race.

Began only fairly, raced better than midfield on the inside, 2 wide from 500M, finished off very strongly, just beaten by a narrow margin.

After the event, B Avdulla stated that his mount, which was having its first race start on the All Weather surface, did not appreciate the kickback and also was disadvantaged by settling back in the field. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Bumped shortly after start, raced 2 wide in midfield, angled out 400M, made very good progress in straight to be nearest on line. (Dead-heat 3rd.)

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race which included an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse’s trachea. Before being allowed to race again, AMAZING DUCK will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Shifted out at start, sent forward to race prominently, 1-3/4L back turning in, peaked early in straight, weakened 250M, eased final 100M.

Jumped awkwardly and lost ground. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race revealed that the horse was displaying an irregular heart rhythm and an endoscopic examination also showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse’s trachea. Before being allowed to race again, ACA POWER will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Taken back from gate 12, raced at rear on the outside, 8 lengths back on turn, finished off very strongly, led last stride.

Near the 1500 Metres after improving to the inside of POCHETTINO was then steadied when momentarily crowded by that runner. After the event, A Hamelin reported that his mount failed to travel throughout the event despite his efforts to encourage it to do so and did not run on in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
