For a short distance approaching the 300 Metres had difficulty obtaining clear running when being shifted to the outside of TOURBILLON PRINCE.

After the event, J McDonald stated that he was instructed to hold a more forward position than its previous race starts with the visor being applied for the first time. He said when unable to obtain a position close to the rail MIGHTY STRIDE was obliged to race wide and without cover for the majority of the event. Trainer P F Yiu confirmed the instructions issued and attributed today’s performance to the fact that MIGHTY STRIDE was caught wide and without cover. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Average to begin, raced behind midfield on the inside, 2 wide from 500M, 4 lengths back turning in, showed limited response early in straight, ran on evenly to the line.

On jumping was taken out by SECOND TO NONE which shifted out. From the outside barrier was then shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

Bumped start, raced at tail, 8 lengths back turning in, made no impression in straight.

On jumping was steadied when crowded by CHAMPION INSTINCT which shifted in abruptly despite the efforts of its rider. From the 600 Metres was taken wider by KAHOLO ANGEL when that runner shifted out to improve. FRANCIS MEYNELL then hung out making the Home Turn.

Began well, sent forward to take the lead, led by 1/2L, challenged by rival turning in, peaked and headed early in straight, weakened inside final furlong.

Shifted in on jumping and was bumped. Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event. After the event, A Badel stated that his mount raced "flat” today. After the race, it was noted that the horse had its tongue over the bit on return to the unsaddling area. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to be a "roarer”.
