Jumped awkwardly. In the early stages got its head up when being shifted across behind runners from a wide barrier. Leaving the 1000 Metres commenced to race keenly and got its head up when being crossed by LO PAN SPIRIT. Sent for sampling post-race.

Jumped with them, raced 2 wide in midfield, 4 lengths back, angled out 600M, wide into straight, peaked early in straight, weakened thereafter. (See Racing Incidents.)

Bumped on the hindquarters shortly after the start. Near the 450 Metres was steadied when BEAUTY CRESCENT shifted to the outside of STEPS AHEAD to obtain clear running. As a result, THE HEIR shifted out and away from BEAUTY CRESCENT.

Shifted out at start and bumped, raced 3 wide at rear, angled out after passing 550M, very wide into straight, peaked early in straight, weakened final 150M. (See Racing Incidents.)

Shifted in at the start, bumped heavily with NAMJONG KINGDOM and lost ground. When questioned, H Bowman stated that after settling towards the rear of the field, with the early pace of the event being run inside of standard time, MIGHTY STRIDE travelled comfortably in that position. He said making the Home Turn when asked for an effort, he shifted MIGHTY STRIDE to the outside of the field, however, it responded only fairly and in the Home Straight lay in under pressure. He added that he was not entirely satisfied with the manner in which MIGHTY STRIDE responded to his riding and reported to connections that he had some concern with the manner in which the horse finished the race off. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

After the event, Z Purton stated that his mount was disadvantaged by the race being run inside of standard time during the early stages, particularly when being pressured by SOVEREIGN FUND. He said as a consequence AEROINVINCIBLE was unable to finish the race off strongly in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. Sent for sampling post-race.

Began only fairly, positioned 2 wide, 5 lengths or so back, commenced move after passing 750M, very wide into straight, kept on well in straight to take a place without threatening the first two.

Shortly after the start was checked when crowded between MIGHTY STRIDE which, after shifting in and making contact with NAMJONG KINGDOM, then raced tight to the inside of PRINCE OF PORTY and SIMPLE HEDGE which was also checked after being taken out by THE HEIR (Apprentice E C W Wong). Apprentice Wong was reprimanded and advised he must attempt to straighten his mounts when they shift ground.

Near the 750 Metres got its head up when being steadied away from THE HEIR.

After the event, K De Melo reported that his mount made a respiratory noise during the running of the race. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. Before being allowed to race again, SOVEREIGN FUND will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Began well from gate 9, raced 2 wide slightly better than midfield, 3 wide from 500M, finished off well to take 2nd, no threat to the winner.

Clean jump, sent forward to take the lead, travelled comfortably in the middle stages, kept on very well in straight and scored.
