Badly crowded shortly after start, positioned 2 lengths behind the leader on the inside, saved ground on turn, kept to inside after straightening and finished off evenly.

Over the concluding stages lay in, resulting in its rider Z Purton having to correct and straighten his mount. Sent for sampling post-race.

Shifted out abruptly on jumping, sent forward to take the lead, led by 1/2L, travelled comfortably to turn, kept on well to the line and scored.

After the event, L Hewitson reported that the intention was to find a handy position with cover. He said in the early stages when RED ELEGANCE was positioned to his inside, he was obliged to allow ETERNAL FORTUNE to go forward and cross that runner and race outside the lead to avoid racing wide.

Commenced well, positioned 2 wide, a length or so back, there to turn, closed off well to take 2nd. (See Racing Incidents.)

Severely checked shortly after start, raced behind midfield on the inside, 3 lengths or so back, saved ground on turn, no clear run early in straight, cleared 150M, finished off well to make frame without threatening.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to be a "roarer” which had previously been reported.

Jumped only fairly. After the event, A Badel reported that his mount failed to stretch out in the early stages despite his efforts to ride it along. He added that he could not identify anything amiss with the horse. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
